User's second edit (four minutes after the account was created) was to User talk:The Haunted Angel, who was the primary target of Brit's attention. The fact that he suddenly started a dialogue with someone that he shouldn't know is a little odd, as is the fact that he's specifically asked about enemies, [1] but the fact that he's said that he's "been a fan [...] for a long time" [2] is a little worrisome. The fact that he found THA through one of Brit's other socks [3] is what really concerns me.

This may seem like fishing, but given Brit's behavior (specifically: randomly targeting THA with "brand new users" and being unable to avoid referencing his old socks), I think the CU is justified. EVula // talk // ☯ // 16:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC) reply

 Confirmed for EnglishUser. CombinationOfTheAbove comes in on an open proxy (or equivalent) that's been checkuserblocked (but kept open for a good user by another admin.) But what's particularly suspicious about COTA is that his name was removed from the list by another editor coming in from the exact same open proxy, so I'm presenting for investigation of edits the following, some of whom are already blocked.

I'm tossing YoungOcelot onto this as well; this is the second (or maybe third) time that he's been peripherally dragged in, and it was not at all uncommon for Brit to talk to his own socks. If this qualifies as fishing, I apologize (and by all means, don't perform the CheckUser), but everything about this damn puppetmaster is convoluted. Ok, it's possible that I'm paranoid, but User:SilverBronz just created an account and immediately posted a spurious {{ test4im}} to User talk:YoungOcelot, a page that was recently visited by User:Golden User. That's a very unusual first edit for a legitimately new user, and the whole "Gold, Silver, Bronze" theme is too cute for words. Given AB's modus operandi, I don't think this is paranoia at all; this most definitely smells of a sock drawer to me, as well. User:Golden User: One of his first edits was to Public nudity, which was edited by User:Edge865 a few days earlier. American Brit is a well known puppeteer, and now another user, Edge865, has been making edits awful similar to his, particularly his fondness for Coronation Street. The account was created very recently, and many of the User Boxes he uses are similar to American Brits. Additionally, it appears that Edge865 has some very similar interests to me, such as LaVeyan Satanism and Mortal Kombat. It may be paranoia, but I agree that there are too many coincidences here. The User:Edge865 account was created a few hours after the last plea for unblocking on User talk:Stralia, Edge865's use of language is strikingly similar to American Brit/Stralia's, and every topic to which Edge865 has posted was recently visited by either American Brit or Stralia. Recently, I have had much vandalism directed at me by various people, Christian vandalism in particular, and it all turns out that they are from the same person, American Brit, who was trying to be friendly to me. As such, he would vandalise with his puppet accounts, then come to the rescue with his main account. He would even vandalise his own account to make it more believable. He is an established puppeteer, it has been confirmed he is behind it. After his banning, Stralia appears on the scene, in much the same manner he did, trying to be friendly. His account was created only days earlier. I suspect that this may be the same person trying the same thing again, from a similar angle, especially considering the similar background (see his userboxes). One vitally important piece of information, is that American Brit used to contribute heavily to Coronation Street, and Stralia has already begun to share the same editing interest in the said program ≈ The Haunted Angel ( The Forest Whispers My Name) 22:17, 12 January 2007 (UTC) reply

I am not upset and I do concent to this checkuser. Haunted Angel put up with so much abuse by American Brit's sockpuppets and I began my account a few days before American Brits "lies" were exposed. So I understand 100% with his suspesions. But I do have to say, and probally with little believing me, that I live in Scotland where Coronation Street is broadcast and I have been a fan since I was just 8 years old. American brit claimed to live In the US where the show is not aired yet he was a die hard fan. As for the background we are nothing alike, aside from the fact we both became teenage parents and married young. Check our userboxes, they are very little alike. I'm tossing YoungOcelot onto this as well; this is the second (or maybe third) time that he's been peripherally dragged in, and it was not at all uncommon for Brit to talk to his own socks. Ok, it's possible that I'm paranoid, but User:SilverBronz just created an account and immediately posted a spurious {{ test4im}} to User talk:YoungOcelot, a page that was recently visited by User:Golden User. That's a very unusual first edit for a legitimately new user, and the whole "Gold, Silver, Bronze" theme is too cute for words. User:Golden User: One of his first edits was to Public nudity, which was edited by User:Edge865 a few days earlier. American Brit is a well known puppeteer, and now another user, Edge865, has been making edits awful similar to his, particularly his fondness for Coronation Street. The account was created very recently, and many of the User Boxes he uses are similar to American Brits. Additionally, it appears that Edge865 has some very similar interests to me, such as LaVeyan Satanism and Mortal Kombat. It may be paranoia, but I agree that there are too many coincidences here. The User:Edge865 account was created a few hours after the last plea for unblocking on User talk:Stralia, Edge865's use of language is strikingly similar to American Brit/Stralia's, and every topic to which Edge865 has posted was recently visited by either American Brit or Stralia. Recently, I have had much vandalism directed at me by various people, Christian vandalism in particular, and it all turns out that they are from the same person, American Brit, who was trying to be friendly to me. As such, he would vandalise with his puppet accounts, then come to the rescue with his main account. He would even vandalise his own account to make it more believable. He is an established puppeteer, it has been confirmed he is behind it. After his banning, Stralia appears on the scene, in much the same manner he did, trying to be friendly. His account was created only days earlier. I suspect that this may be the same person trying the same thing again, from a similar angle, especially considering the similar background (see his userboxes). One vitally important piece of information, is that American Brit used to contribute heavily to Coronation Street, and Stralia has already begun to share the same editing interest in the said program ≈ The Haunted Angel ( The Forest Whispers My Name) 22:17, 12 January 2007 (UTC) reply

I am not upset and I do concent to this checkuser. Haunted Angel put up with so much abuse by American Brit's sockpuppets and I began my account a few days before American Brits "lies" were exposed. So I understand 100% with his suspesions. But I do have to say, and probally with little believing me, that I live in Scotland where Coronation Street is broadcast and I have been a fan since I was just 8 years old. American brit claimed to live In the US where the show is not aired yet he was a die hard fan. As for the background we are nothing alike, aside from the fact we both became teenage parents and married young. Check our userboxes, they are very little alike.
