Cool Cat ( talk · contribs) – Cool Cat removes vandalism a lot and has worked on a bot to find vandalism. As an admin Cool Cat could protect pages that are vandalised a lot. 1. 'I strongly support' Cool_cat for the reasons that I nominated him. 'I dont know anyone that should be an admin more than cool cat.' I think that there will be a total of 2 votes against him 30+ supporting. 3. Support. I know that he has declined but I hope he would reconsider. Some might consider him "not admin material," pointing to his fiery temper and the such.    Support. Cool Cat's got a grand idea in CVU, has amassed an impressive number of good edits, and unfortunately makes lots of typos, but who cares?    Is that right? Funny how most admins. have more than a few thousand contribs. Plus, it is not all in the edit count - that is true. 12,000 edits is just a good indicator of his dedication to the site, even when he wants to leave, he seems to "suck it up" in a sense in order to continue his services to the Wiki. 7. Oppose. This guy is completely the opposite of what an admin should be. Yesterday he said he was leaving Wikipedia due to a spat with Snowspinner. He was also involved in an RfC and an RfAr earlier this year. Not only is he a terrible mediator, but he has caused huge edit wars about Kurdish groups and accused almost everyone in #wikipedia of either being "out to get him" or trolling. This guy has constantly exhibited childish behavior every time I've run into him. He may have a ton of edits, but he's also been very disruptive. I would vote for SPUI before CoolCat.    I hate to reply to my own comment, but a perfect example of the behavior I'm talking about just happened in #wikipedia. The log is on the talk page. This is why I voted against CoolCat. The guy is obviously intelligent and interested in Wikipedia, but he keeps engaging in this childish behavior. Earlier this year he claimed to have invented the internet! 8. Oppose I find CoolCat quite a cool fellow. Unfortunately, he seems to be engrossed in a number of POV wars related to Turkey and the Kurds. He lacks equanimity. Also, I don't quite like the militaristic "counter vandalism unit". My impression is that he will make a find administrator some day, but that currently this is premature. Oppose If we were terribly short on admins, Cool Cat would likely be high on my list of people I'd change my vote over with certian conditions (such as he not be involved in certan subject areas). Since we are not short admins, I see no need to admin someone whom we have to place conditions on their adminship.     To be fair it should be said that early this morning when AngryParsley first came into IRC and he heard Cool Cat had said he was leaving, he expressed happiness at the event, and cheerfully provided a pile of nonspecific criticisms of Cool Cat without even hearing about the situation. 13. Coolcat is on probation and is mentored, it would be reasonable to think that he should be given the chance to prove he can change during this probation period. After that, if he shows any changes, and above all, if he deal with his character instability we’ll see. First and foremost, one must be a good contributor before anything else, before being an Administrator, and Coolcat has now the chance to revaluate his participation and become a good and uncontroversial contributor.     No I cannot be held responsible for RickK's departure. No fair court will deliberately sentence someone for somebody elses actions. I did write the original material and did not know it was somewhat popular on the net. I did not provide copyvio info so as not to comprimise my identity, instead I rewrote the whole thing, making it more article like than burochure like.

    Please, do not ever speak in my name, I never claimed/said/implied/decided that adding a copyvio to Wikipedia would be fun. I have notified WP:CP of tens of copy vio cases. I also wrote a bot that detects a good number of copy vio cases so I deserve some credit for even more copy vio reporting.

    I have had and still dont have any conflict with RickK. In the incident RickK revert warred with User:SPUI not me. You cant provide a single diff of me reverting RickK. RickK also deleted the page without posting it on Cvio page and wait for 7 days. Given only one paragraph (2,3 sentences) on the entier page I think it is most certainly not the best desicion to delete the entier page. RickK should have listed it on Cvio page for 7 days as the new version was almost completely different from the first version. In any case I rewrote that paragraph later on (after digging the page from google chache with great effort). I needed someone to point out what was posing to be a copy vio. I simply rewote that section in a time period no more than 1-3 minutes (primarily because of lag).

2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

A.

1. Starfleet Ranks and insignia: First complete page. I think it looks beultifull and is informative. I do not deserve all oif the credit User:Husnock deserves a greater credit and it was very very pleasant to work with him.
2. Ranks and Insignia of NATO: This was a did on my own. I never completed the Navy and Air Force etc ranks as this requires overwhelming time for just one user to handle (with over 1000 images that need to be uploaded). If I am offered assistance of course it can be done :)
3. Southeastern Anatolia Project Written from scratch. Looks nice and is informative. I'd like to note there was a copyvio contravercy regarding this.
4. Wikipedia:Counter Vandalism Unit With about 50+ members I think this is a sucessfull ongoing project. I created it initialy just to paste my IRC vandal detection bot and gave the bot a fancy name: Counter Vandalism Unit. Essjay and several others gave the idea to make this more of a gathering ground. I think its nice.
5. Oh My Goddess!. I reorganised it and added sections in manyways redid the whole thing. I had some assistance as well, it was pleasant to work with other people.

A. I havent been writing articles recently primarily because of my on going dispute with Davenbelle and Karl Meier (Stereotek).
