I have been a Wikipedia contributor since April 2003 (user number 9855), although I have gone for periods of time without activity until recently. Beyond normal copyediting and NPOV policing, I am working on starting
Wikipedia:WikiProject Fishes to clean up and standardize ichthyological articles; I am also working on biographical articles for modern French "notables" (primarily aristocracy and political figures), which is allied to my professional field. I also try to keep an eye out for potentially unfree images and work to bring the ones I find into compliance or to have them removed. —

A cursory scan of his/her edits seems to indicate a good user. Support.

Support. He's been working with me to resolve our differences over citation formats in the fish articles. The very fact that he references his work should mean something! --

A. Of course, I would continue to work to fight vandalism and similar problems, for which sysop rights would be helpful. I could also help with the task of deleting unfree images and with category cleanup; my contributions are limited now to nomination and discussion.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. I would like to mention two examples, one of which I am pleased with and one not.
I responded in anger to
Neutrality when he reverted a page move of mine, calling it "ridiculous"; I have been was for some time unable to get him to discuss the disagreement. I regret that I was not more diplomatic from the outset and also that we have been unable to resolve the disagreement, but I have left his revert to stand for now rather than getting into a move war.
On the other hand, I have been working with
Ram-Man to resolve our differences over citation format for
FishBase and
ITIS references in fish articles. I took the initiative of creating templates for the citations so that I can continue to work on the articles in question while we find a compromise citation format, which can then be applied uniformly by editing the template.
I highly value civility in discourse, and I intend not to allow myself to respond in anger in the future.
