I have been an admin on the English Wikinews, and have been awarded the Medal of Persistence, see My Awards Case and My Wikinews UserPage. I look foward to being able to help to a greater degree with vandalism with the additinal powers of a sysop here on Wikipedia. Ryan B. ( Talk, contributions) 03:13, 8 January 2007 (UTC) reply
Ok I just have to say...everyone (so far) has acted like its such a big deal I don't have 500 edits here, their is NO policy stating you must have x edits to be a sysop. Furthermore I am sure if you added my edits between Wikipedia, Wikinews (where I am a sysop in good standing), and Wikibooks...I would have over 500 edits, so just because i don't limit myself to contributing to one wikimedia project or just because i've been busy with school alot recently, until now, I think that it is rather unfiar to simply say oppose without realizing: NO I don't need to be a sysop to manage vandalism, but it makes the job much easier, and concitering my track record all thoughout wikimedia projects, I don't think you can possibly think its not likley i would misuse any powers. With or without sysop status I can do what I need to do, but I can do it more effectivly with sysop status, and if you don't think I deserve tp become a sysop, fine, but don't be to quick to dismiss or criticize, it seems rathe rude to me.
