Jtkiefer

Final (43/5/4) ending 00:20 30 August 2005 (UTC) Jtkiefer ( talk · contribs)

I have been a wikipedia editor since late May and have have become a true Wikipediholic. I am an active vandal fighter and a member of the Welcoming Committee I have also have begun to spend time working on featured picture candidates. I had a failed RFA last month here which was due to my being a fairly new editor, however I have matured and learned from the extra time that I have had and now feel that I am ready for the responsibility of being an administrator. -- Jtkiefer T | @ | C ----- 00:20, August 23, 2005 (UTC)

Also, this is less than a month after he last self-nom, and the user has been here less than three months (by a little bit). Comments

Of course, the most recent example I can think of was a page I started Wikipedia:Stalking now a rediredt to Wikipedia:Harassment which didn't up so well, with a few minor edit wars and massive disagreement on the talk page, Even though it doesn't directly involve a dispute with me just last night I also helped calm down a dispute regarding the blocking of User:Amalekite between User:Slimvirgin and User:Matt Crypto. Jtkiefer jumps through a hoop for good measure
OK..? Glad you liked the hoop, but I don't actually see any disagreement-settling attempted by you at Wikipedia:Stalking, not in the page as created or anywhere else—how is it an example? Am I looking in the wrong place? Bishonen | talk 16:23, 23 August 2005 (UTC) reply
Sorry, Wikipdia:Stalking was probably a bad example, at the moment I'm working on Asperger's syndrome with some editors to make it more readable and more stable. Jtkiefer T | @ | C ----- 18:00, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
I admit that I haven't had many notable content disputes since much of the content work I do is an add here, a copyedit there, a subtraction here and there as needed but I'm in the process of trying to get more involved with content without slacking on my current participation on other areas of the wiki. Jtkiefer T | @ | C ----- 18:18, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
  • I'm not voting (don't count this as a neutral vote). I'll be happy to consider this application when Jtkiefer has been around a bit longer. Late September should be okay provided can see plenty of good article edits (not WP:FA stuff, just normal edits). -- Tony Sidaway Talk 18:48, 23 August 2005 (UTC) reply

Questions for the candidate

A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I would continue to help with vandal fighting as a major part of my time on wikipedia, and I'd also help with Canidates for speedy deletion on things that are blatantly speedy even though I prefer rewriting and/or merging if possible rather than deleting.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I'm proud of my work on Megatokyo even though it isn't much I'm working on making it a cleaner clearer better article.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. I've done my best to avoid being personally involved in conflicts with other users as much as possible and try to work out disagreements amicably before they get a chance to escalate into full blown conflicts.
