Alhutch (
talk·contribs)
– I have been a registered user on Wikipedia since April 2005. In that time, I have accumulated
1,823 edits on all namespaces. I participate at AfD, I sort stubs, I contribute to sports-related articles, including writing some stubs, and I revert vandalism. Lately, I have also been writing stubs for subjects listed on the
WP:AR1 page. I would like to have administrator privileges in order to fight vandals more efficiently including blocking IP's and protecting pages when necessary, and the rollback button (which would be helpful), and I also don't mind doing dirty work. I believe I could help Wikipedia through participating in various admin tasks. As they say, this shouldn't be a big deal.

Yea. I'm going out on a bit of a limb here... Alhutch has a rather low edit count, somewhat lower than I'd like to see even from a nomination offered by a 3rd party... That said, I find his record to be impeccable. I would say that I'd like to have gotten a more definitive response to the question I asked, but at least I didn't get mealymouthism, excuse-making, or anything else but what I have to interpret as "I just wasn't around"ism...with which I can completely identify. I just hope that if Alhutch decides to take such a hiatus in the future, that he'll make his absence better known on his user or talk page at such a time. Hint hint, nudge nudge.

something just got messed up on the format of my statement up top so that it turns into one of those really long things in a different font that you have to scroll sideways to read. I don't know how it happend, nor do I know how to fix it. anyone know what happened?--

A. I anticipate helping with closing AfD discussions, working down the backlog, and watching candidates for speedy deletion. I will also be better equipped for RC patrol and vandalism fighting, and I will continue to write new articles, even about stuff I don't understand yet, especially in the articles requested for more than a year category. I anticipate helping new users as much as possible and being available for people who need administrator help.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I am happy with some of the new articles I have written, although they all need work. Some of the best, I feel, are
Mathias Kiwanuka,
Richard Landes,
Kyle Brady, and
Amesbury Friends Meeting House. I also recently rewrote the
Boston Celtics article, and while the work on that page is not done yet, I believe it is improved now. I have also been updating the NFL roster templates. I am excited about continuing to write new articles and continuing to improve the articles I have already created.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. I don't remember any very significant conflicts. There was a conflict on the
Mike Dirnt page that I was involved in, but I didn't let it get out of hand, and things eventually cooled off. I try to stay civil at all times, and if I have been rude to another user, I always make sure to apologize. I think that consensus can eventually be reached if everyone keeps a cool head, which I try my best to do.
4. For those of us digging through your edit history... what were you doing prior to August 2005 that kept your contribution level so low?

A. I was not at school during that time period, not very knowledgeable about contributing to Wikipedia, and not very involved in Wikipedia yet. I can offer no other explanation. I plan to remain invloved, and there will not be any more such gaps in my record.--
