October 20 Information

Butterfly and flower ID

Unfortunately I can't put this in any useful categories except for the town where I took it, since I don't have a clue about butterfly or flower classifications. Taken on 25 August 2018 in Kilmarnock, Virginia; any ideas? Thank you. Nyttend ( talk) 13:01, 20 October 2018 (UTC) reply

Ah, never mind on the butterfly; I happened onto the Papilio glaucus article. But can you identify the flower? Thank you. Nyttend ( talk) 13:03, 20 October 2018 (UTC) reply

Zinnia? -- Modocc ( talk) 03:32, 21 October 2018 (UTC) reply
Yes, I agree with zinnia. The flower, leaf arrangement and the bud look right. Richard Avery ( talk) 07:18, 21 October 2018 (UTC) reply
The Zinnia shown in this picture, [1] I would say closely resembles the one the butterfly is on. ← Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots12:15, 21 October 2018 (UTC) reply
