- It's not clear if you're referring to Wikipedia or not. Or if you are referring to Wikipedia, just what part of the site you're talking specifically about. So, here's a stab in the dark: If you want to know more about how an article gets to be the featured article on the main page of Wikipedia, there are info and links at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests. I've tried to find a chart summarizing by country which ones are on track to meet the goals by the deadline of 2015. After a lot of googling I've only found charts showing which countries are accelerating in progress but not where they stand. Can anyone point me to such a chart? - (EC) Probably the Millennium Development Goals of the UN which are not only the primary topic for the article, they appear to be the only one we have an article on and also appear to be what at least the first 50 Google search results for 'Millennium Development Goals' are referring to .... - Here is the official UN site that tracks "where they stand" [1], and here [2] is their interactive data visualization tool. I don't know if you can easily make the chart you have in mind, but that is probably the best source of data. With enough time and care, you could retrieve the data and plot it any way you like. Suppose I am in a car, does turning my wheels while my car is stopped cause more tire wear than if I rotated my tires the same amount while moving? Acceptable ( talk) 18:56, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- According to Steering wheel, it's referred to as " dry steering" and can cause unnecessary damage to a number of components in the car. Sadly both articles are unreferenced, anecdotally it appears to be the case however with hundreds of Google hits about the subject. The Rambling Man ( talk) 19:58, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- I agree that dry steering is not ideal, but it's not likely to cause much damage if you only do it on occasion. The only time I ever do it is when maneuvering into a tight parking space. (And, since I live in
Detroit, and half the population has left, there are plenty of open parking spots here.)
