Dialog doubt from F9 (film)
Roman and his team enters underground tunnel:
- Roman: I don't think they had grids when this place was built. If a Ninja Turtle pop out on me, tell you right now, I'm out.
What does "pop out on me" mean? Rizosome ( talk) 04:24, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- Not having seen it, it sounds like he's being funny, referencing
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and to "pop out" would mean to "suddenly appear". Does that make sense in context? ←

Does it mean Ninja turtles live in tunnels? Rizosome ( talk) 04:59, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- They are fictional and "live" in a fictional universe, in which their home is in the sewers of New York City, where they were instructed in the martial arts by a mutant rat. I haven't seen the film, but presumably the tunnel reminds Roman of the home of the Ninja Turtles as shown in the TV series, or perhaps earlier in the comic books. -- Lambiam 07:38, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
