Were the male members of the House of Dreux and House of Artois actually recognized as princes du sang in France before these two Capetian houses (or cadet branches) became extinct in the male line in the late 15th century? I am asking because members of the Capetian House of Courtenay were never actually recognized as princes du sang in spite of them actively petitioning to be recognized as such on numerous occasions.
