  • Author is almost definitely not the copyright holder. I have no idea if this is the right way to go about removing the image since I've never dealt with files before, but this is an inappropriate license and it needs to be fixed. Ish dar ian 00:41, 5 June 2014 (UTC) reply

  • Not a valid license reason. Could be {{ PD-US-1989}} = Works published in the U.S. between 1978 and March 1, 1989, without a copyright notice, and where the copyright was not later registered - would need investigation.  Ronhjones   (Talk) 00:50, 5 June 2014 (UTC) reply

I took this photo myself. Could someone help me figure out what I did wrong in the upload process? Bali88 ( talk) 23:46, 5 June 2014 (UTC) reply
@ Ronhjones: The image looks like it was taken in a house or apartment. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't assume good faith and accept this is the contributor's own work. Mz7 ( talk) 15:46, 6 June 2014 (UTC) I have struck my statement to reevaluate the copyright concerns for this image. Mz7 ( talk) 18:10, 6 June 2014 (UTC) reply
I am not the artist who created the Willow Tree line. However, I do own this particular set of figurines and the photograph was taken in my house of the set I own. I'm having trouble finding the wikipedia page that describes the guidelines for this situation. I know that if I take a photograph of a celebrity, I own that photograph and can submit it without their permission. I know if I take a photo of a celebrity and they are wearing a designer gown or a designer logo, we can still use that photograph without the permission of the celeb or the fashion designer. Given all these other situations, I was assuming that this photograph would be fine. Bali88 ( talk) 15:54, 6 June 2014 (UTC) reply
The best answer is over on commons - it still applies here as well commons:COM:TOYS. The photo is yours but the copyright on the 3D figurines belongs to the creator - thus it becomes a derivative work. Since Susan Lordi created them in 2000 (i.e Post URAA of 1996), then current copyright rules apply and they will be in copyright until 70 years after her death.  Ronhjones   (Talk) 18:53, 6 June 2014 (UTC) reply
