As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for many non-scientists to learn about public health topics. Wikipedia is an openly editable resource, meaning that you can help fulfill NIOSH's outreach mission by improving the quality and accuracy of Wikipedia entries. During this training, attendees will learn the basics of how to edit Wikipedia articles and practice their skills with experienced Wikipedians.
This training and workshop is for NIOSH staff and invited experienced Wikimedians. It continues a series of National Nanotechnology Day workshops previously held
in San Diego (2016),
Cincinnati (2017),
Columbus (2018), and
virtually (2021).
NIOSH is the leading federal agency conducting research and providing guidance on the effects of engineered nanomaterials on worker health, and methods to control or eliminate exposures, through its
Nanotechnology Research Center. NIOSH also created the Emerging Technologies Branch in 2019 to facilitate forecasting, identifying, evaluating, and developing guidance on potential hazards in new or emergent technologies.
