Wikipedia:Request an account/Administrators

This is way past old and is now managed through the mailing list. For Tool "Admins" this is not the procedure, again WP:ACC/Guide has it all updated an better than this. -- DQ (t) (e) 23:50, 11 October 2010 (UTC) reply

  • So either update it yourself or mark it as historical and point readers to the updated material. No ned to delete this. -- œ 01:14, 12 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Mark historical then. -- King of ♠ 06:39, 12 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Either {{ sofixit}} or {{ historical}}, per above. Stifle ( talk) 08:00, 12 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Historical, tag as. Merge, per StWalkerster. -- Joshua Issac ( talk) 16:46, 12 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • It's not that out-of-date, I say merge any useful content into WP:ACC/Guide and either redirect, or historical. Stuff like signing up for the mailing list I've noticed isn't in the guide, email templates are stored on the tool now anyway. Some of the links at the bottom may be useful to transfer across, and the possible errors should be there already. Summary: merge into guide, then historical/redirect -- [ stwalkerster| talk 17:40, 12 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Merge - per Stwalkerster's suggestions. Mlpearc powwow 02:35, 13 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Merge into ACC guide per Stwalkerster. Salvio Let's talk about it! 16:37, 16 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Merge then redirect per all of the above, there is some useful content in there - there is no point in just deleting it, as a lot of work went into making that 'back in the days'! :) The Helpful One 10:12, 17 October 2010 (UTC) reply
  • Keep, unless there's good reason not to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Wikipedia:Request an account/Guide seems to be specifically for using this tool. At least, it says "This is a manual to using the account creation request interface." That would seem to be an entirely different purpose than this page, which describes a fairly simple manual process for which the tool is not needed. At least, I don't use it; when responding to requests on the unblock mailing list, I create accounts via [1] as recommended at this page. If this is merged, Wikipedia:Request an account/Guide will need to be altered so that it is not simply a manual for the tool. -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:50, 19 October 2010 (UTC) reply
