Portal:Skunks

Portal:Skunks ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

New portal created using the automated portal system after the community voted to freeze mass creation. There are only 14 kinds of skunks in the world, and two of those are called badgers. Therefore this fails the min 20 article portal guidelines. The list of articles is beefed up with Caniformia (a much larger grouping of diverse animals), Animals and Chordate (an even bigger group of species). The subcats do include fictional skunks, but nothing else in the portal mentions them as this portal is just repackaging the nav box for the skunk order [1]. Well what can I do? This article is done? Matthew Cenance ( talk) 00:23, 29 March 2019 (UTC) reply
May I make a userpage based on this portal? Matthew Cenance ( talk) 00:26, 29 March 2019 (UTC) reply
@ MatthewCenance: It's an automated portal, so there's no actual content. Nothing to copy, unless you figure out what articles are being stripped, and quote from them, using the proper method of quoting Wikipedia articles within Wikipedia. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 05:38, 30 March 2019 (UTC) reply
Is there a way to prevent the article from being deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MatthewCenance ( talkcontribs) 07:07, 30 March 2019 (UTC) reply
There is no article being deleted, no content lost. The underlying articles on skunks will be untouched by this deletion. Legacypac ( talk) 16:18, 30 March 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete - No plausible reason advanced for keeping this portal. It appears that creating portals is still a fun activity. Robert McClenon ( talk) 04:53, 31 March 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Keep, it does no harm, and researchers and fans of skunks may find and enjoy it. Randy Kryn ( talk) 11:31, 1 April 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete, too little content for a portal. Ten Pound Hammer( What did I screw up now?) 04:51, 2 April 2019 (UTC) reply
