Portal:Prehistory of North America ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Like Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Prehistory of Oceania there is no head article on this topic so it can not be an appropriate topic for a portal. The title is a redirect in mainspace. Show first that the topic can support an article before building a portal. This portal also lacks an introduction of any kind. Legacypac ( talk) 03:46, 14 April 2019 (UTC) reply

To what end? It does not serve readers in userspace and it does not meet current (or any conceivable future) Portal guidelines so it is not coming back. If you want to make a copy no one is stopping you this week. Legacypac ( talk) 22:10, 14 April 2019 (UTC) reply
It's a broad subject matter with a significant amount of recognized content. It hasn't been well-maintained but that could change if Wikipedia's portal system is renovated to be easier to maintain. I'll make a userspace copy tonight. Abyssal ( talk) 22:35, 14 April 2019 (UTC) reply
I heard some users tried to renovate the portal system to make things easier to maintain. More details at WP:MFD. Legacypac ( talk) 23:12, 14 April 2019 (UTC) reply
A reckless attempt at the task by one user doesn't undermine its possibility or importance. Abyssal ( talk) 23:25, 14 April 2019 (UTC) reply
Over 50 users according to [1] which has all kinds of interesting reading. Legacypac ( talk) 23:54, 14 April 2019 (UTC) reply
I haven't followed WikiProject Portals since it was created. I was too exhausted from the drama of that attempt a few years ago to delete the portal namespace. Abyssal ( talk) 00:42, 15 April 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete - I respectfully disagree with User:Pldx1 on this one that a word from the maintainer is enough, especially in view of the lack of recent maintenance. Robert McClenon ( talk) 00:51, 15 April 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Userfy, per request. @ User:Robert McClenon: Saying a comment by a maintainer, if any, could make the day is not saying that such comment will make the day. Nevertheless, in the present case, the request to userfy by the creator of this portal... what do you think about it ? Pldx1 ( talk) 07:26, 15 April 2019 (UTC) reply
