Portal:History Studies at EMU

Nothing against the idea, but I don't think it belongs in portal space. Creator of the page has been informed of this discussion. John Carter ( talk) 19:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply

Deletion is okay with me. Any suggestions about where it could go? I'm running a class project next semester and would like to have some central wiki-space for my students to check into. Any suggestions about what WP function I should use? -- RedJ 17 ( talk) 02:49, 22 November 2007 (UTC) reply

You could make a sub-page of your userpage, but that might be problematic if you're using it as a discussion forum. A better place to ask the question would be at the appropriate subpage of the Wikipedia:Village Pump. Cheers! bd2412 T 05:29, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
I would support some sort of way of forming a partition in WP for instructional projects. short of that, the simplest thing to do might be run a local MediaWiki installation, and link from it. DGG ( talk) 23:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC) reply
Comment - I think the best way to go would be to contact Wikipedia:WikiProject Classroom coordination and look at some of the ways such things were done earlier. John Carter ( talk) 17:34, 24 November 2007 (UTC) reply
Thanks all for the suggestions. -- RedJ 17 ( talk) 17:39, 24 November 2007 (UTC) reply
