Portal:Bacon
Narrow scope WP:REDUNDANTFORK of navbox Template:Bacon.
This is currently a pseudo-portal, an automated portal whose "selected articles" list is a randomly-chosen subset of the navbox's contents.
It was created in 2010 as an old-style manual portal, but by the times of its last manual version in August 2018 [1] it offered slim pickings: it worked fine, but Special:PrefixIndex/Portal:Bacon shows only 4 articles and 3 dishes. The navbox offers a much wider choice of articles, and since mouseover offers un-logged-in readers a preview of each link, the portal's snippet summary adds no value. So it was converted [2] in Sept 2018 to the automated format.

- Comment - One should add that this portal provides also a Selected anniversaries feature. Most of them are empty, but the November page links to
November - Annual Zeeuws spek competition in the Netherlands

- Delete, unless Cirt wants to come out of retirement to expand it. Cirt was a very prolific portal creator, and many of theirs were of high quality, but they don't seem to have been active since April 2016. I've never really seen the merit of portals for individual foodstuffs, and with a total of 7 articles and 3 images, this does nothing to convert me. Espresso Addict ( talk) 05:14, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
