This portal was created in October 2005 and has been utterly neglected ever since. The Did you know section has had a single update of a single hook, and the other five hooks have been there for the entire four years. Since it was merged from Portal:Agronomy in May 2006, the showcase article has been rotated once, in March 2008. The showcase picture has never been rotated. All recent edits are drive-by minor fixes.
As I understand it, the Portals are pointless if they aren't kept fresh. Portals that just sit there and moulder are worse than useless, because they present a stale, out-of-date and potentially misleading access point to our readers.
I don't know what the standard procedure is for stale portals—whether they get deleted or blanked or redirected or marked historical. But surely something has to be done here. -- Hesperian 00:42, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
