Draft recently refunded about a band that recently formed. Sourced to social media there is no suggestion this band is notable. Way to soon. We should discourage wasting time on something that only serves to promote the band and has no chance of going to mainspace unless they make a big break through. - @ Legacypac: was this one recently refunded? I see it was moved out of mainspace, [1] but not undeleted. It also looks like Midnight Riptide was A7'd twice earlier this year. I agree with your assessment that this band hasn't made out of the social media level - it is not a plausible candidate for mainspace unless something changes dramatically.
- But:

brand new editor was told just a few days ago that they "
can work on it without fear of deletion" in draftspace. WP:BITE is a guideline and we are expected to follow it: is it less bitey to let the editor dabble about in draftspace on this until they tire of the AfC rejections and the draft is G13'd, or is it better to pull the band-aid off at once and not string them along? I think there is a good case to be made that the latter is better, but only if we update our guidance at
WP:REFUND and from front-line mainspace patrollers like
331dot to make consistently clear to newbies that draft space is not a safe haven if the subject has no chance of becoming an article. That's something that would be accomplished after central discussion on the topic. Until then, my vote is hold off on deleting for a while per WP:BITE - there's no reason for urgency here.

- Perhaps I should have phrased things differently, but I believed (and still do) that they deserved a chance to attempt to show that the subject they are writing about is notable; if you say this has no chance of being notable, then I believe you. 331dot ( talk) 00:35, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
My nomination statement says it was recently refunded, and I was reviewing the WP:REFUND list adding notes and looking at recently refunded pages so I'm sure that is where I found it. The history shows this Draft title created on Sept 9 with this edit [2] which included categories and refs and was obviously copied from another location. Not sure why we are missing the older history. Anyway no hope of surviving in mainspace so it's a waste of time at this point. Legacypac ( talk) 02:48, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
See [3] it's been deleted A7 twice, A1, A3 and R2 when moved to draft. Pretty clear the creators just keep coming back to promote this band and can't prove notability. Legacypac ( talk) 02:51, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
