The Critter of the Week (CotW) project has been a great science outreach success, and Wikipedia support has been an important part of that. Currently the "critters" discussed each week have their Wikipedia presence enhanced at short notice by an ad hoc team of volunteers. The goal of this meetup is to set up a CotW Task Force, with editors actively recruited and asked to commit to assisting each week. The Task Force would liaise with DOC's CotW coordinator in scheduling critters ahead of time, with time to source photos and research new articles when needed. The Task Force would also promote CotW on social media. Volunteers could receive small rewards for continued dedicated participation: a virtual Critter medal, or even DOC or RNZ merchandise such as a Critter teatowel.
