fly59muc ( talk · contribs) Your statement on why you want to be on the Mediation Committee. (Don't forget to sign with ~~~~.) Hello I'm living in Germany and I'm working in the field of industrial property rights. Two years ago I've started an education to become a master of mediation. Correlated to my studies I've attended about 200 hours practice, almost only in the field of family mediation. In the industrial field I've worked as an arbitrator in the International Chamber of Commerce. I'm convinced of mediation as an instrument to lead conflicting parties to their real needs. In my opinion mediation is adapted to reveal the deeper meaning of a conflict to the related parties.
On the other hand I'm fascinated of open source projects where people contribute to a common project without obtaining personal advantages thereof. It shows that people are still interested and engaged. I was really astonished when I came to this mediation project of Wikipedia and I've already looked into the open cases to get some information about what's going on here. I have to admit that the conflicts here at least slightly differ from what I do and did until now in family mediation. But I find your approach of an open mediation board totally interesting and promising, also for Germany which is some years behind in mediation. Currently, I begin to handle open cases without being a member of the Mediation Comittee. Anyway, it would constitute an enrichment of my experience and mediation work here in Germany to become a member in your board and get some deeper impressions in the work of open mediation boards. Last not least I'd be glad to handle cases in German language, if present. fly 16:44, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
