Where is the dispute?

Hugo Chavez main article.Evidence-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNvG7IAyTK4

Who is involved?

A short list of the users involved, for example;

What is the dispute?

Issue about Hugo Chavez's ability to speak English.JRSP shot it down even though it was true.Even though Hugo Chavez cannot speak good English,he can speak a little.click on link and watch video,the videos are the evidence.I think JRSP needs to consult the evidence and watch the videos before deciding what to do.His reasons that they are irrelevant and that most Venezuelans can't speak English are extremely useless as language knowledge usually invovles a person's personal life.Hugo Chavez ,unlike most Venezuelans,can speak a little.I think JRSP is quite selfish and ignorant to do this(editing my statement,which is true and constructive).

What would you like to change about this?

Passage that Hugo Chavez speaks some English to be included in main article-Personal Life section.

How do you think we can help?

Please advise on best solution possible.

YouTube links are not acceptable sources to use. Even if it proves beyond a doubt something. What is proven needs to be backed up by reliable, secondary sources.

Youtube is evidence, but not a source. This has always been true, particularly as many of the videos hosted at youtube are copyvios. Xavexgoem ( talk) 04:17, 19 July 2009 (UTC) reply

I would advise seeking reliable sourcing for the assertion that Chavez speaks poor English. YouTube videos are, as previously mentioned, not considered reliable sources. It's especially important that any assertions on a WP:BLP, particularly ones that could be considered controversial or negative in some way, be backed by a solid source, to prevent libel. I'm afraid this is a policy that has broad community consensus at the moment. Regards, Vicenarian ( T · C) 22:21, 23 July 2009 (UTC) reply
I am going to close this case, per the concerns listed above. I would direct any further discussion over the use of YouTube videos here to the reliable sources noticeboard. Thank you. Vicenarian ( T · C) 09:34, 25 July 2009 (UTC) reply
