Where is the issue taking place?
Red Hot Chili Peppers, and invitations to discuss the issue have been met with little success on the Talk:Red Hot Chili Peppers
Who's involved?
ReadyMade, Xinit, Maxcap, and non-users from source IPs 88.110.115.216, 88.111.134.163, 85.102.129.72, 210.56.69.12 and others.
What's going on?
Re-adding of questionable external links to band fan sites, in English and other languages, removal of warnings and requests for dialog.
What would you like to change about that?
I can see having one fan site listed, but there's some amount of dispute between two of the fan sites, trying to have their own fan sites listed to the exclusion of the others. All I'd like to see is a sane discussion of why any one particular fan site should be listed, citing how it meets the criteria of WP:EL. I'd really prefer to not be insulted by those site owners and their sock puppets when their sites are removed.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
...
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
Always possible.

Mediator response

Hi, I am Adam and I have taken this case. I prefer that we discuss this matter on Talk:Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ideogram 07:37, 15 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Mediation failed. Blocked participant ReadyMade, posting anonymously from 172.209.222.166, refused to stop making personal attacks. In addition, two anonymous accounts reinserted disputed links while the mediation was in process. Now exploring further options with requestor. Ideogram 20:44, 17 June 2006 (UTC) reply

172.209.222.166 added controversial external fansite link again. Ideogram 12:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Cowman has taken over. I will no longer be mediating this case. Ideogram 15:36, 20 June 2006 (UTC) reply

A compromise has been provided with little response, so I am closing the case as the matter at hand is apparently no longer relevant. People appear content with the current state of things by having no links to fansites at all. Should further trouble arise, both pages will remain on my watchlist (though leaving me a note on my talk page would be best). Thanks. Cowman109 Talk 15:41, 15 July 2006 (UTC) reply

Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{ Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{ Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

Compromise offers
