The file on Flickr is a jpeg as well. In fact, judging by the exif data, I'd say there never was a raw file. I can give it a shot this weekend, but really, it's not going to fix the blowout, only make it slightly less bad. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPantsTell me all about it.21:20, 5 May 2017 (UTC)reply

Request taken. This sort of moire pattern can be very difficult to remove. The best thing to do is to scan the original at a much higher resolution. Unfortunately, you're not the original uploader, so that may not be possible. Fortunately, these are small images, so fixing by hand shouldn't be too difficult. I'll take a crack at it. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPantsTell me all about it.17:44, 11 May 2017 (UTC)reply

Can this be cropped to the three standing figures? Sorry it's not the best, but it's taken from near the back of the faculty section (this is with my zoom lens set to the longest possible focus length), and I had to shoot over the heads and hats of most of my colleagues and of many new graduates. You can upload under this filename or under a new one; I don't care either way.

I'll take a shot at it. Not going to {{I take}} it because this is the sort of thing where a lil competition can be a great thing. Could you merge these into a decent montage? I was imagining the vertical warning sign going in the middle, with the horizontal pictures (each downsized from 6016×4000 to 2647×1760) being arranged around it, three on each side. On the left, please put (top to bottom) "Gravel with warning sign", "Ungraded gravel", and "Partial flooding"; on the right, please put (top to bottom) "Good gravel with bridge", "Asphalt", and "Looking south over Truevine".

This is a massive file of Botticelli's Birth of Venus. I want to get some detail crops. My machine can't load it into crop tool, no doubt because of the size. There is a set of tile sections, but these seem cleverly designed to break the image in exactly the wrong places. Can anyone break it up into more manageable sections, splitting by the main figures etc? Many thanks!

That's an artifact of the sharpening and expansion of the original file. The artifacts were always there, this just made them more noticeable. They can be painted out, but really it would be best to find a better image, or do some minor touchups and reduce the size back to original. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPantsTell me all about it.15:55, 25 May 2017 (UTC)reply

Please remove in 1 the greenish tint. 2 is too dark, please also increase distance between the edges of the bowl and the edges of the image, it is overcropped. The image can be 3x4 in proportions. 3 seems to be too dark somehow, maybe the white pedestal can be used as a reference. I slightly tilted 3 already to correct the angle. The background should also consist of only a horizontal line, if the two vertical lines on both sides can be removed somehow would be great. Please try to retain the shadow that the patterns create however, the proportions here can also be 3x4. In 4 please increase the distance between the rim of the plate and the border of the image, it is overcropped at the moment, the square proportion can remain. Something is odd with 5, it feels like there is a milky sheen over the image, probably from the glass of the case. I corrected the tilt already, please complete the missing background parts. A square proportion would be good. Thank you. --

Would it be possible to crop this image in a way so that it just shows the Filatov without the rest of the book cover. Techinically, the article is about the author not the book itself so using the entire cover art is not really needed per
WP:NFC#cite_note-3. The author is deceased so using a non-free image of him should be acceptable per item 10 of
WP:NFCI. No source was really given for the file, but it can be found on Amazon
