We do not know if this photo was ever actually published but even if it was published in 1930, then URAA would kick in because it was still in copyright in 1996. The normal term of 70 years pma would be 2000 in the Netherland, so the copyright tag is incorrect and unfortunately the source page does not provide any copyright status information. ww2censor ( talk) 09:18, 10 October 2015 (UTC) reply
Thank you for your message. Wrt the copyright I think you are right, the image was not public domain (PD) in 1996, and therefore not PD in US now. Wildside (Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch song) is an American song. Now that the US cover art is included, shall we keep the European cover art as the 2nd image, which has been used for several years? George Ho ( talk) 14:02, 10 October 2015 (UTC) reply

  • Delete since there is no consensus on keeping both images and no desire for the community to discuss alt/regional covers. As it stands it seems in violation with our fair use policy. Darwinian Ape  talk 17:11, 12 October 2015 (UTC) reply
  • Keep. Since taking part in the RfC at the subject page, I did some looking through archives and learned that, a few years back, there were some hellacious battles over whether song- and album-related articles should have any cover images at all. That dispute seemed to have resolved itself, but I do understand why folks who thought that 'one' was too many images might now argue that 'two' is too many, as well. And I believe that I see their logic -- the fair-use rules do say that the use of non-free content should be minimized. But our fair-use guidelines allow the use of non-free images if that use will serve to help identify the subject of the article (see the discussion of "contextual significance" in the non-free content guidelines). And this raises the immediate question -- who are we helping to identify the subject? In the instant case, the American cover of the work does not help a European identify the work, as that person is far more likely to recognize the European cover than the American one. By having both images in the infobox, we facilitate identification by readers in both of the major markets where this work was released.
In my posting at the earlier RfC, I noted my concern about a slippery slope. I still have that concern and, indeed, I see two slopes. The first is the inevitable need to make judgments as to when two regional covers are sufficiently different so as to justify using the second image. The other slope comes from the (rare) possibility that there might be more than two substantially-different covers whose use could be justified as 'identification'. I think here that considerations of style (i.e., overall appearance of the article) might serve to limit us to two covers, but perhaps others might not agree.
Happily, neither of these two concerns comes to play in the instant case. The American and European covers are quite different, and no one is suggesting that we use a third one. And so, I see no problems, either under the fair-use guidelines or under stylistic considerations, that would prevent us from using both images. My position is "keep" both images in the article. NewYorkActuary ( talk) 06:15, 17 October 2015 (UTC) reply
NewYorkActuary, MOS:MUSIC#Images and notation discourage using extra images for mere display. As long as we have the US cassette image (although I would have used the US vinyl one), I don't see removing the EU image affect the quality of the article. Any user would just surf through another website for other images, especially with rules of Wikipedia. George Ho ( talk) 20:06, 17 October 2015 (UTC) reply

Violation of WP:NFCC#3a: we don't need three different pictures in the same article. See the section immediately above for the third one. At most one of them can be kept. Thanks Stefan.
I have read your 'chapter & verse' statements on the discussion page. Basically you are stating that ″we don't need three different pictures in the same article″ and that ″At most one of them can be kept″. I suppose that if, regrettably, only one can be retained, then I would think that this should be File:Commander RNR RD 1943.
You state that there is missing evidence that WP:NFCC#4 is satisfied.

I do not understand how WP:NFCC#9 is additionally violated.

In the source field, it says "Original publication: unknown - possibly a press agency". If it comes from a press agency, then the picture fails WP:NFC#UUI §7. Stefan2 ( talk) 20:17, 10 October 2015 (UTC) reply

Violation of WP:NFCC#3a: we don't need three different pictures in the same article. See the section immediately above for the third one. At most one of them can be kept. These two are missing evidence that WP:NFCC#4 is satisfied, and WP:NFCC#9 is additionally violated. -- Stefan2 ( talk) 20:26, 10 October 2015 (UTC) reply

Both of these images have been published in his autobiography “Tramp to Queen” - see Further Reading - for which I hold the copyright.
I do not understand how WP:NFCC#9 is additionally violated.
