Comment. As with other Google Art images, this photograph is considerably darker than
other available reproductions. Before we get into a tiff about "accuracy," let me proactively point out that this has nothing to do with accuracy: the brighter the light you shine at a painting, the brighter it will appear. Google is photographing these darker so as to minimize the appearance of wear in the paint (visible in the USC image linked above as white spots, which are worn bits of paint catching the reflection of the lights).
