But 'dev' was American and he was not in power when the Republic of Ireland was set-up.Fine Gael were.He also opposed the treaty see he wasnt critical in setting up the Irish Free State either,if that is what you meant.-- Muc Fíníneach 15:49, 24 August 2005 (UTC) reply
