Yuser31415 ( talk · contribs) Hello! I am now over 2000 edits. I plan to make a RfA when I reach around 3000. However, before I do so, I want to be up to my best and able to deal with conflicts in a smooth and easy manner.

I would appreciate it if more Wikipedians could review me, so I can improve to my full capability.

Thank you, Yuser 31415 ( Wikipedia:Editor remore on article talk pages, although since you're a wikignome, it's acceptable. And like me, you're a welcomer (with User talk edits exceeding mainframe edits). Keep up the good work, and I suggest you take a good look at WP:RFA to plan ahead for your future, so you know where to aim. bibliomaniac 1 5 05:33, 7 December 2006 (UTC) reply

    • Thank you for the compliments! I will attempt to discuss more on article talk pages; I may have a go at adminship early next year, but I'll see how things pan out. Thank you for your review! Cheers, Yuser 31415 18:28, 11 December 2006 (UTC) reply
  • Alrighty, here's my review: You are a good, fair user. You probably know all the policies, you use edit summaries, etc... Now, I feel that you need some more mainspace edits which is currently at 313. Actually, you should do quite a bit of mainspace work. At least 1000, in my opinion. Well, other than that, when the time comes and you succeed an RFA, you'll be a good admin, pal. Good luck with your editing,-- SUIT 05:47, 17 December 2006 (UTC) reply
  • I like your mentality. Since this isn't as strict as an RfA or similar, I'm going to ask you a question then review you based upon your response, as well as your contributions. My question is "What is policy?". Please consider this carefully. -- Deskana talk 11:22, 17 December 2006 (UTC) reply
Hmmm, that's a hard one. My explanation would be, "A policy is a stronger form of guideline, a "rule" if you wish, that should not be broken unless WP:IAR must take effect. A policy should be followed to its very extent and should not ever be broken unless breaking it is absolutely required to improve the encyclopedia. And if it needs to be broken, making an amendment to the policy should be discussed. Policies exist to protect Wikipedia's users, help verify information, and generally help our encyclopedia reach its goal.". How's that? Yuser 31415 ( Review me!) 19:08, 17 December 2006 (UTC) reply
All things considered I'd say you're a good editor. I'm not so sure about running for an RfA just yet, but that's certainly a possibility in the near future. -- Deskana talk 19:15, 17 December 2006 (UTC) reply
  • I can't believe you are only reaching your 2,000 edit, I have seen you "everywhere" which is really good. I recommend that you work on your mainspace editing. RFAers like to see a good solid number of mainspace edits yours is about 314 which is a little on the low side. I also would like to see more article talk space edits, interaction there leads to results on the article. Continue working on the wikipedia space and wikipedia talk space since everybody likes seeing that. But for only 3 months on the job you are doing an excellent job. I also see little if not any RC patrol, I would consider greatly working on this since this is a big + on RFAs. Also I would recommend you not try an RFA until February since time is crucial. Okay hope that helps, If you work on your weaker areas and continue in the manner you are doing now I will be 100% willing to Strong Support you in the future. Cheers! — Seadog Talk 14:56, 17 December 2006 (UTC) reply

  • I'm new to wikipedia, and think it's great and i think it's excellent that people are monitoring for spam, but I think yuser31415 is going a bit wild removing spam that might not be spam. I made a non spam external link to the wiki apple2 pages that refer to a site that brings back apple2 usage when apple2's are long gone. The refering site is not for profit and i didn't do it a million times to non apple2 wiki pages, why is this considered spam. apple2user

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
As I am a Wikignome, I don't have one point of interest. My primary contributions are those I make while RC and NP patrolling, fighting vandals, and welcoming users, as I am a member of the Welcoming Committee. Apart from that, I wander around the Wiki following links, fixing typos/capitalizations/grammar/spelling, fixing links, making redirects, etc.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I don't believe I've had any major edit conflicts in the past. Probably the worst time I ever had was on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:AtionSong/World's Longest Poem (second nomination), where I was getting annoyed with User:Whedonette. That was a little while ago now and I don't hold any grudge towards her.

Thanks for your help on December 20, 2006

I posted a helpme because two articles, Thalía and Paulina Rubio, that I watch get a lot fan competition edits. As a Wikipedia reader and part-time editor, I hate seeing vandals disrupt pages. I do my best to protect the pages I watch. On December 20, the edits were starting to get beyond what a rational human being could revert. I ased for help and Yuser31415 took a look at the pages, gave me advice on how to protect them from vandal edits and how to ask for semi-protection on them. I kind of felt over my head in getting the articles protected but because of Yuser31415's expert advice, I managed to request semi-protection the next day which was granted. Kudos Yuser31415!!!!
