Mr. Stradivarius
Mr. Stradivarius ( talk · contribs · count) I have been editing Wikipedia regularly since October 2010, and I have contributed to a variety of areas, including dispute resolution, new page patrol, and content creation. I would like to be reviewed because I am thinking of running for adminship sometime in the next few months, and I would like feedback on what I can work on before I take the plunge. I would primarily use the tools for speedy deletions and possibly closing AfD discussions, so I would especially welcome feedback in these areas. - What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
- My content contributions started out in the area of second-language acquisition and language education, although recently I've become more of a generalist. I have a few DYKs to my credit, but no Good Articles or Featured Articles. Probably my best article is

Performance calligraphy, which I'm quite proud of (still needs expansion though).
I am also involved quite heavily in dispute resolution. I have been a regular contributor to the dispute resolution noticeboard, and I think I still have the highest number of edits to that page. Recently, I have been more involved in the Mediation Cabal, particularly in a large ongoing case about the Verifiability policy. I'm also one of the coordinators over at MedCab, although that doesn't really give me any kind of special status or responsibilities. I think these might be my actual best contributions to Wikipedia, but no-one likes getting into a dispute, so I might not have made that impression on other editors!

- Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.
- I have been in my fair share of disputes. The first ones did cause me a fair amount of stress, for example this deletion discussion from March 2011; but even back then, I think I kept things civil on the whole. I haven't been in any editing disputes as a party for a good long while, though. Probably the most recent one was at Radioactive contamination from the Rocky Flats Plant in September 2011, which was an article that I discovered through the dispute resolution noticeboard. I knew then to get help with the dispute early, and I think I conducted myself quite well, although perhaps I could have got more opinions about the page move. Another one from a bit further back was a dispute I had at Chinaman (term). In the end, I handled that one by (eventually) taking it to the dispute resolution noticeboard, where I got a very helpful response. (My experience at the noticeboard was also the reason I got involved in dispute resolution.) On the whole, though, I have spent a lot more time resolving disputes than being involved in them, as I outlined above. If I got into an editing dispute now, I would use the techniques that I've learned from mediating, and get outside help from WP:3O, WP:DRN, or maybe a WikiProject.

- I checked your deleted edits and found the speedy deletion tags to be generally spot-on. (Sometimes, you assumed more good faith than the deleting admin, but that's fine.) Most of the remainder of your deleted edits consisted of tagging and repairing new articles that ultimately got deleted anyway—that is also great. - This is a fairly random comment, but your signature is both somewhat large in source and also difficult to read. While it's not for a lack of folks with far worse, it can make things more difficult for editors around you, and especially on an RfA people can and will use this against you. At very least I'd suggest removing the specific font faces (since not everyone will have those anyway) and either lightening or removing the shadow entirely, as its darkness and positioning are the main problem I'm having with it on this screen. -—

- Don't worry, random comments are all good. I have actually wondered in the past whether my sig was a bit too long, so your post is a good opportunity to do something about it. After much testing, I've decided to remove the shadow but keep the fonts. Palatino isn't available on most Windows boxes, sure, but it's on just about everything else; for the Windows users Times is next in the queue. - Your role in Dispute resolution Board is highly appreciated. But, now a days DRN has become a futile venue and I think your shift to Mediation Cabal is the reason. You tracked the editors even after closing the discussion at DRN and that helped to control vandalism. -- Ashleypt ( talk) 15:02, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
