Wow. That's a stub. Just wow. [[User:Meelar|
Meelar(talk)]] 05:10, 2004 Sep 1 (UTC)
While it clearly needs to be expanded, it's of significance only to North America.
Ambi 09:24, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Ah, but ever wonder why American labor is virulently anti-socialst — unlike the rest of the world? AFL-CIO leadership is resposible for that. Also the group is activly lobbying for sanctions against U.S. companies moving U.S. jobs to
India,
Malaysia,
China and the
Philippines.

Very brief article, considering that it deals with an 85-year old UN organization that has received the Nobel Peace Prize. Its work has definitely had major effects on working life issues, especially in developing countries. I'd like to see major international organizations in general get some more attention on Wikipedia - they certainly deserve it.

Why don't we have an article on this? [[User:MacGyverMagic|

You mean as opposed to
Ballpoint pen? Ballpoint could redirect there unless there is some other important use of the word I am unaware of. -
Taxman 17:12, Sep 29, 2004 (UTC)
I've created the redirect as I can't think of another ballpoint. (Is there a ballpoint hammer, or am I thinking of a
ball-pein hammer (also non-existent)?) --

Thanks! Sorry for being non-native English. I should have thought about that option. :-)Thanks for that redirect. Consider this nomination revoked. [[User:MacGyverMagic|

There is a lot more to write about this <pov>very enjoyable, delectable and addictivly delicious</pov> treat. I'm wondering - can anyone answer what countries is DM sold in?

Delicious topic. BTW, the nominator does get a vote.

This article has "Fried squid" as a dish. I'm really surprised this isn't a stub.

Seafood is not a personal favorite of mine, but it definitely deserves some expansion.
Mgm 18:02, Sep 23, 2004 (UTC)
Aw, man, I can't believe my topic is going to sink. It's such a bad article as things stand, and is a lovely broad topic that lots of people could contribute to. What a shame. --[[User:Bodnotbod|

Just a note:
music of Germany exists and could be of help in writing this article, and of course should be linked to (and maybe expanded while you're at it).

The culture of a major country in the world deserves an article.

The phenomena of everyday life sometimes get overlooked.
I don't think there's a lot to say about omelettes? Is there? If so, what?
JOHN COLLISON |
(Ludraman) 21:41, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Well, there are different kinds of omelettes and they're bound to have a history. At least make sure there is a wiki cookbook link. [[User:MacGyverMagic|
Mgm|(talk)]] 11:11, Sep 27, 2004 (UTC)
The article doesn't even mention the art and science of making a French omelette!!! There will be more than enough to put in the article, especially depending on how loosely we want to define "omelette", as there are many omelette-like egg dishes around the world. func(talk) 03:10, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
The article already has the "expansion" template. I decided that this subject deserved to get serious. Knowing about the history and what surrounds this phenomenon would be very instructive, and, mostly, quite fun. --

Jousting is the state sport of
Maryland, although I don't think most Marylanders could tell you that.
Isomorphic 21:06, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
I'm a Marylander and I'm dimly aware of having known that at some point, possibly as recently as fourth grade (which was more than a decade ago). As a show of stateriot (state + patriotic) pride, I'll vote to support.

Could cover history of ports, effects of a city having one, cases where cities have gained or lost them, etc. [[User:Meelar|

Should cover warm water ports vs. cold water ports, deep-water ports vs. shallow water ports, famous ports. [[User:Neutrality|

First mentioned it for expansion as it's only about firefighting rescues right now, but I think it's a good cotw candidate. There's a seperate, very US-centric article about
Mountain rescue (which perhaps could be merged into
rescue) but there isn't any information about sea rescues or other related topics.
