Nominator's rationale: This team was known as the 'Aguilas,' which translates to 'Eagles.' I'm not sure where "Aquilas" is coming from. There's already a
Category:Águilas de Mexicali players for players with the same-named team that was formed in 1970 so I don't know if it should be merged or what.

This has nothing to do with this discussion but I'll humor you anyway,
Fayenatic. The first, most obvious place to look is his Baseball-Reference page which is linked at the bottom of his article, as it is for all professional baseball players. I'm surprised that you have taken such a keen interest in this article without even being familiar with Baseball-Reference. Beyond that, there are plenty of other sources like
this book. You can also do a cursory
Newspapers.com search and find several dozen results. --

Thank you,
Denniscabrams. I had attempted to search those reference pages for Mexicali, but had not realised that on the the Baseball Reference page it would be necessary to first click on the tab for minor/Mexican leagues. This does confirm that Orta played for them in 1971, and that the team name is Aguilas not Aquilas.
[1] also confirms that
Rudy Hernández (shortstop) played for them too (not Áquilas de Mexicali, as categorised by
MusiCitizen). That gives two verified member articles for the category. –

Denniscabrams: I still agree with Oculi that a category should not be added to an article without explicitly mentioning - and preferably elaborating on - the fact in the body text of the article. Categories are summaries of articles, they should not provide information on their own.

Nominator's rationale: Members of this category are mostly
WP:OR and are pretty unlikely to have been actually classified as avatars, save for a few select characters like Aang. I suggest it should be merged into deities, while removing the characters who are not explicitly deities in their fictional works.

Oppose No idea who Aang is. Every single
Doctor Fate (male or female) is an avatar of the Mesopotamian god
Nabu,
Jean Grey (and several of her female relatives) are avatars of a deified
phoenix,
Juggernaut is an avatar of the fictional god Cyttorak,
Moondragon is an avatar of the evil deity Dragon of the Moon. These people are mortal incarnations of various deities, and
avatars are material appearance or incarnations of deities and spirits.
