Category:Squares by continent. Why are we singling out plazas when there are many words used in different languages? "Square" is a generic term in English for any formally laid-out urban open space, whatever it is actually called (and most of them are not square). Reply "Why are we singling out plazas" - the whole point of the nomination is not to single out plazas. The whole point is to give it a more encyclopedic feel and for it to be less Anglo-centric. It acknowledges that each of the two terms is valid and common in their respective locations. Why use "squares in South America when they're called plazas? The category needs to embrace both.

Why is Spanish being given special treatment? Better to just use the generic English term for all of them.
