Marcocapelle, But even if the films have nothing in common in the they follow the general consensus of sharing a common setting theme of being fictious because of that they do not take place in a real location. using a fictional location can sometimes be used a plot device for some films. Such as being in a fictional city can implement Sci-fi elements into a story. And even if we finalize deleting this category we're going to have to delete the other similar parent categories.

Delete many films are situated in fictional places, and unless there are no people there, they are fictional populated places. Is that defining for the film? IMHO, no. Nearly all sci-fi stories are set in various fictional populated places (using 'populated' to include populated by humanoids as well as humans), all the Lovecraft works fit in here, lots of the comic book based works, etc.
