Nominator's rationale: Substantial overlap of concept. Many manufacturers produce stuff for both ends of the market, and people who start off with toy trains progress to models. There is no clear boundary between them. Maybe needs a different name - perhaps "Toy and model railway manufacturers" or "Rail transport modelling companies"? Rathfelder ( talk) 17:16, 8 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Comment There is a clear distinction between a Scale model and a toy; which I seem to remember being discussed here before. I don't think merging these two is actually gone to improve things. Twiceuponatime ( talk) 09:21, 10 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • I think you are wrong to suggest there is a clear distinction between the two. There is a continuum. Some products are clearly toys, some are clearly models, many can be seen as either. Toy trains are all made to a scale. Rathfelder ( talk) 14:56, 10 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • ...and they are quite distinct. Twiceuponatime is right - there is a clear distinction. Grutness... wha? 15:44, 13 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Reverse merge or do not merge at all. Category:Model railroad manufacturers would seem to be a better umbrella term, but as Category:Toy trains is a distinct subcategory of Category:Rail transport modelling, I do not see an obvious reason to merge the manufacturers. There is however a continuum between the two. Place Clichy ( talk) 10:54, 11 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose. Model railways and toy trains are different things, as Twiceuponatime points out. There are some companies, however, which manufacture both, hence the incorrect perception of a continuum. I would, however, support a renaming of the proposed category to Category:Model rail manufacturers as a language neutral form. Grutness... wha? 15:44, 13 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Most of the companies produce both models and toys, and much of what they produce can be described as either. Rathfelder ( talk) 08:58, 18 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • That may be true, but what I look at is whether your proposal to merge is going to improve the category structure. I can accept that the present structure is far from perfect, but I cannot see that your proposal makes things better. Twiceuponatime ( talk) 09:45, 18 June 2019 (UTC) reply

Nominator's rationale: delete, with two exceptions ( Ermesinde of Carcassonne and Almodis de la Marche) this category only contains queen-consorts of Aragon, who already are in Category:Aragonese queen consorts and for whom countess of Barcelona was a mere secondary title. Marcocapelle ( talk) 08:14, 8 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose This would removed them from the Countesses category tree with no real reason. Dimadick ( talk) 21:08, 9 June 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose. Count of Barcelona is a list that shows that several move countesses would be eligible even if queen-consorts of Aragon are kept out, and at least 2 already have an article: Douce I, Countess of Provence and Petronilla of Aragon (who was queen-regnant of Aragon and countess-consort of Barcelona, and brought Aragon in the House of Barcelona). Also, the title of Count of Barcelona was later revived, first by Louis XIII of France, then by 20th-century Infante Juan, Count of Barcelona, so their spouses are probably considered countesses as well. Place Clichy ( talk) 10:54, 11 June 2019 (UTC) reply
Comment in the second case, a re-creation of the title would have to have its own category. Am inclined to support the nomination with the additional safeguards suggested by the nom. Laurel Lodged ( talk) 08:59, 15 June 2019 (UTC) reply
