Nominator's rationale: All articles are about USA. Funeral homes seems to be American usage - at least I've never come across it in UK.

Support first alt but as "Funeral homes in the United States" per usual American usage and Marcocapelle's comments below. IIRC the terms in many other countries are "Funeral directors" and "Funeral parlours". The second alt would be acceptable, but it's not common terminology in any specific country as far as far as I can tell.

support change - many Australian businesses are increasingly known as funeral services/funeral directors, home is regularly getting dropped in advertising and business names...

Nominator's rationale:delete, these are extremely distant family members who have nothing in common with each other. Besides we do not have any other categories for descendants of an individual.

Keep - Descendants of Confucius have a special place in Chinese history and culture. When hereditary nobility outside the imperial family was abolished more than 1,000 years ago, the main line of officially recognized descendants of Confucius was one of the few exceptions. The lineage has been meticulously documented (see
Family tree of Confucius in the main line of descent), and the eldest male of the lineage held China's only continuous nobility title,
Duke Yansheng, for more than 2,000 years. The current holder of the title, now called Sacrificial Official to Confucius, is
Kung Tsui-chang, living in Taiwan. And only certified descendants of Confucius and their wives are entitled to be buried alongside Confucius himself at the
Cemetery of Confucius, a World Heritage Site. So this is unlike any other descendants category. -

Delete. Non-defining (e.g. for
Kong Qingdong). It may be appropriate to mention in the article text that the person is a descendant of Confucius, but not every fact in an article needs a corresponding category. DexDor(talk)20:42, 22 June 2019 (UTC)reply
@
DexDor: I've removed
Kong Qingdong, which is unsourced and should never have been included in the category. For most people in the category, their claim to fame and positions of authority are closely tied to their descent from Confucius. Quite a few became authoritative Confucian scholars in large part because of their descent, e.g.
Zisi,
Kong Anguo,
Kong Rong,
Kong Yingda. Others are notable solely because of their officially recognized descent, such as
Duke Yansheng,
Kung Te-cheng,
Kung Tsui-chang. Definitely a defining category. -

Keep per Zanhe, "descendant of Confucius" is a well-documented and traditionally culturally meaningful title in China, comparable to
Sayyid, not a random fact. —

Delete or make it Cat-redirect to 9th century. If one takes 8th century as ending 31 Dec 800, the category had content for 1 week. If one treats it as ending in 799, it had none at all. I recall celebrating the new millennium at the end of 1999 not the end of 2000, though technically 2000 was still in 20th century, since there was no year zero. This has no effect on the issue of the subsequent categories, which should of course be kept.

Comment "If one treats it as ending in 799, it had none at all" All centuries begin at year x01 and end at year x00. The
Anno Domini system which we are following never had a year 0. It starts at year 1.

Delete, he is in the next century anyway. To avoid category clutter on articles, people should be categorised according to the century that mainly corresponds to their period of activity; we should have a tendency to avoid categorising people by occupation (etc) in multiple centuries. –

Nominator's rationale:upmerge, unnecessary category layer for two cities. It is not to be expected that more Portuguese cities will follow with having their own religion category if only because Portugal has been almost exclusively Christian for the last 500 years (i.e. a Christianity category would suffice).
