Nominator's rationale: Currently, there is no distinction made between armed and nonviolent resistance. The
Jewish resistance article states, "According to historical scholar Yehuda Bauer, Jewish resistance was defined as actions that were taken against all laws and actions acted by Germans". The vast majority of people involved in resistance by that definition did not bear arms and were therefore not "fighters". Furthermore, the Nazis themselves defined Jews as dangerous and violent in order to justify their extermination. A good example is
Masha Bruskina, previously listed in this category, a seventeen-year-old Jewish girl engaged in nonviolent resistance. Before the Germans executed her, they forced her to parade through the streets with a sign saying that she was a partisan who shot German soldiers. I propose a main category
Category:Jewish resistance members (currently redirects to
Category:Jewish resistance fighters) with the following subcats:
Category:Jewish partisans,
Category:Participants in ghetto uprisings, and
Category:Jews in nonviolent resistance.

That is not sufficient, because the phrase "resistance fighters" is used only three times in Wikipedia categories, probably because of its POV connotations. I guess it would be simpler to rename the category to
Category:Jewish resistance members, and subcats could be created from there. I've clarified the nomination to reflect that.

That makes it much clearer indeed. Support rename to "members" per nom. In fact, with this rename, we even no longer need a separate nonviolent subcategory.

Oppose The word "resistance" mostly implies armed or otherwise violent resistance, and on first glance, most members of this category indeed fall in that group. If renamed, I'd say "against Nazi Germany" e.g., but not "WWII", because some of the resistance predated the war.

Comment: as stated in the nom, most recent definitions of Jewish resistance during the Holocaust include nonviolent resistance. I think that the current name of the category is preventing more people like
Emanuel Ringelblum,
Alfred Wetzler, or
Fredy Hirsch from being added. Once the move is carried out I plan to add subcats for various types of armed and nonviolent resistance.

Expand abbreviations -- World Economic Forum is a notable international body, so that its awards might be significant enough to escape OCAWARD.

Delete Per the main article,
Young Global Leaders, there were 237 awards issues the first year and it occurs every year. This looks more like a career development/mentorship opportunity than an award that itself adds to notability.

Nominator's rationale: At this time, there is not enough content (just the main article and 1 subcategory) to warrant an
eponymous category. Both the article and subcategory are otherwise appropriately categorized, so upmerging is not required. (@
