Definitely merge -- Lycia is said to have emerged in circa 1250, so that giving a category for a precise year offends
WP:OR. I suspect that the best that anyone could do would be to assign it to a decade and even that may be pushing it.

Nominator's rationale: We don't normally (afaics) place (talk pages of) articles in a category because they're a candidate to be a selected article on a portal. IMO this sort of thing is better handled as a list. If kept this should be renamed as per the CFD below. DexDor(talk) 20:27, 30 June 2015 (UTC)reply
Speedy delete under
WP:G7. I support the nominators rationale as the creator and only major contributor to this category. It was created at a time when the
Portal:Vancouver was a featured portal and had significantly more activity planned.

Oppose It is not true that all of the members of this category are Hindu.
Kalanos says recent research suggests he's a Buddhist.
Sathya Sai Baba says at least part of his movement has "rejected the label Hindu".
Anandmurti Gurumaa is not labeled as Hindu and is described as having followers from many religious traditions.
Rajneesh is described by some scholars in the article as not being Hindu.
I think that's enough to establish the point.

Hindu saints are not "religious leaders" but "are those recognized by Hindus as showing a great degree of holiness and sanctity."
Nayanar saints are "a group of 63 saints" according to
Nayanars. They're a group of venerated people. While some of them are religious leader they're not all religious leaders. They are, however, all venerated people. The current category appears to be correct.
As
Category:Saivite religious figures is a parent category for
Category:Nayanar saints it would not be appropriate to rename it as "Saivite religious leaders" since, as explained above, not all the Nayanar saints are religious leaders.
Oppose rename of
Category:Nayanar saints, if the "saint" bit is a problem then it could be renamed to just
Category:Nayanars as it's a well defined category, not all members being religious leaders. Also, some of the members in other cats of "religious figures" are not religious leaders", e.g.
Prahlada or
Shuka wouldn't be considered religious leaders. Those categories need more than a rename, they need a purge of all those that don't belong. —

Box Car Racer have only ever released one studio album, and have been inactive since 2003. This category contains exactly one page (following my removal of

While it's true that not all of the relevant categories actually exist,
Category:Albums by artist is meant to be a "comprehensive overall" scheme in which every album that has a Wikipedia article at all is meant to be filed — it is not restricted to "albums recorded by artists who have recorded multiple albums", but rather even a one-album subcategory is permitted to exist within that tree. And while I grant that it's not an ideal description, standard practice of
WP:WPMU is that the album categories are meant to be inclusive of video/concert DVDs — since there's no alternative "Music DVDs by artist" scheme to file them in at the present time, and not every band automatically gets an
eponymous category just for existing, there's no alternative way to keep the DVDs contextually filed in any other artist-related category. So this does satisfy
WP:SMALLCAT's exemption for "unless such categories are part of a large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme", and the DVD should not actually have been removed from it in the first place. Keep.
