The result of the discussion was:no consensus. As this and the other categories nominated below each have 3–4 parent categories and 3–5 members, they appear to be valid for navigation, with no policy ground against keeping them. –

Nominator's rationale: The Main category is "Portugal Open". For every annual event, no other similar categories were created.

provisional keep I have repopulated these categories to reverse out-of-process removals, and given four children, a category would be appropriate. However, a merge of all four children into the parent is perhaps a reasonable resolution.

In principle, Rename to include "Tennis", as golf also has "open" competitions: I had to look hard to find what sport this was. However, Comment -- the question of whether we need an annual category is questionable as
Category:Portugal Open (which should be
Category:Portugal Tennis Open or
Category:Portugal Open (tennis) is not so heavily populated as to need splitting. Alternatively that could be split by event - men's/women's singles/doubles. This makes for four subscats.

oppose alternate split Looking at the other WTA categories, where they exist they are inevitably split by event, then year, with an overall categorization of "WTA by year". I don't see the overall men's/women's splitting that would justify doing it in this case. The members of this would therefore go into
Category:Portugal Open and
Category:2014 WTA Tour if anything, but as I said earlier, I think four members is arguably enough to justify the "event by year" subcat.
