Local politician who sits on the town council of a small/med size community (approx. 45k people). Doesn't meet
WP:NPOL. And the coverage is of
WP:ROUTINE variety which you would expect of a local politician.

Keep (as article creator) - Notable as, according to sources, apparently the first openly gay person elected to public office in Britain. Coverage includes an entire 30-minute ITV documentary about him, which I'm not sure is routine.

Keep - As already sourced in the article, his election seems to be a notable first, and the cited coverage is specifically because his election was *not* routine.

Keep. The article
properly sources that his election to the city council represented a significant historic first — and not every local councillor can claim to have been the subject of a full 30-minute documentary broadcast by a national television network and preserved in the national film archive, either. I'd certainly still like to see a few of the
primary sources replaced with better ones if possible, but he definitely has some reliable sources that verify a credible claim to being a special case of greater notability than the norm for this level of political office.
