Not listed in GNIS. Durham calls it a short-lived post office (1869-1871) in an area that would eventually become part of Oakland. Post offices are not reliable indicator of a community. No indication that there was ever a community named Melita. No other notability uncovered.

Weak Delete.
Melita had a post office. Yes, I understand that other people do not agree with me that the presence of a post office fulfills
WP:GEOLAND #1: "Populated, legally recognized places". However, it is not in the GNIS. I edited the article and removed the incorrect coords. Newspapers.com did not turn up anything, though I did find an obit for someone born in Melita, Sonoma County.
