I have been in the project since August 2005, and a administrator since July 2006. My prior username was Jaranda Over my years in the project, I have seen it grow from a little more than 500,000 articles and editors with lack of policy pages/understanding, to a wonderful project with over 2,000,000 articles, and well-detailed policies.

I'm running for the arbitration committee feel like I bring a no nonsense approach to the committee. I felt that the committee is slow at times and gives problematic editors too much second chances, even though most of them end up being banned anyways. I'll bring a no-tolerance approach to harassment in particular, as I was a victim of it, along with several other prominent users. I'll still will assume good faith though, which is a key component of being a member. I will answer more of my views in detail from questions.

I have the experience for the job. I dealt with some dispute resolution, especially in WP:AN and WP:AN/I, and I work especially in dealing with disruptive editors, catching socks, Verifiability and Consensus building. I closed some of the most controversial articles for deletions, dealt with some of the most notorious banned users, and was involved in several behind the scenes issues, some of which went to arbcom both publicly and privately, don't worry I wasn't the user mentioned :). I wrote over 200 articles, including three of them being featured, so I have heavy writing experience as well.

As for inactivity, I went on wikibreak for a while because of harassment from ED and personal problems. I became afraid to use the tools for a while fearing for my family sakes. I was still reading what was going on around the project, and made article edits via IPs. Gradually I started to use my account again, and I’m back from that inactivity. I will contribute my time mainly to ArbCom if I'm elected, and I won't let any troll get in my way.

I was the running for the arbitration committee. But I noticed that I won't have enough time to dedicate myself if I get elected. I work and I go to school, I'm not one of those editors who spend time in wikipedia every day for 12 hours a day. I rather focus on getting OTRS access and help there, focus on Attract More Editors and write a few FAs. I also feel like it was too soon since my inactivity to run, and that kills my chances. There are plenty of qualified editors (10) who will get my support, and a couple of others I'm borderline with. Thanks Secret account 16:30, 25 November 2008 (UTC) reply
