Vittoria Paganetti (born 17 June 2006) is an Italian professional tennis player. She has a career-high ITF junior combined ranking of No. 29, achieved on 10 June 2024.
Paganetti was born and raised in Bari. [1] She began playing tennis at the age of five, [2] and currently trains at the Circolo Tennis Bari. [3] [4]
Paganetti made her junior Grand Slam debut at the 2024 Australian Open. In singles, she reached the second round. In doubles, she and partner Francesca Gandolfi were knocked out in the first round. [5] [6] At the ITF J300 Villena, she reached the semifinals in singles and won the doubles title with Gandolfi. [7] [8] She was accepted of the main draw of the 2024 French Open in both singles and doubles. [9] Seeded fifth in doubles, she and partner Emerson Jones reached the semifinals. [10]
Paganetti made her WTA 125 debut with a wildcard into the 2022 Open delle Puglie in Bari, but lost in the first round to Laura Pigossi. [11] She also received a wildcard into the 2023 Open delle Puglie, but again lost in the first round. [12] At the 2023 Archigen Cup in Solarino, she and partner Gaia Maduzzi finished runners-up, losing to Linda Klimovičová and Julie Štruplová in the final. [13] [14]
After passing the pre-qualifying tournament, [15] Paganetti made her WTA Tour debut with a wildcard into the main draw of the 2024 Italian Open, [16] [17] but lost in the first round to compatriot Lucrezia Stefanini. [18] She was only the fourth player from Apulia to make the main draw in Rome. [19]
