Vernagt am See (  Italy Vernago) is a small hamlet in Schnalstal in South Tyrol ( Italy) with a population of 53 (2011). ^[1] It belongs to the Schnals municipality and the Frazione Unser Frau within Ötztal Alps.

The hamlet is situated directly on the banks of the Lake Vernagt-Stausee since the 1950s when the old village was flooded on purpose. Before that, the hamlet was located further west. The main economic factor is tourism (skiing and hiking).^{[ citation needed]}
