In October 2020, Forbes ranked her 5th in their list of the highest-paid Russian TikTokers for the year. [5] In December 2020, Valya Karnaval took 6th place in the list of "top artists" of the Russian-language segment of TikTok musicians whose songs were most often used by users in their videos.
Valya Karnaval was 6th place in TikTok's "Top artists" list for speakers of the Russian-language, ordered by how many videos were made using her songs.
In addition, her song "Psycho" was 9th place on the list of "TikTok's hits" as one of the most used tracks in 2020. [6]
2001–2016: Early life and school
She was born on November 11, 2001, in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, and lived in Bataysk, Russia until the age of 15. [5] [3] [7] [8] Growing up in poverty, she claims her house was heated by a stove.
In school, she was bullied by other students; one of them poisoning her. [9] At the time, she was in dancing and athletics classes, but left athletics for health reasons. [5] [8]
After graduating from the 9th grade of school No. 9 Novobataysk, [10] she entered the Rostov College of Advertising, Service and Tourism, [11] though she dropped out shortly after. [11] Valya later entered another local college, but also dropped out. [5]
