No prob. Would you be interested in helping head up a new wikipedia project? I just started Wikipedia:WikiProject Bluegrass Region not long ago and will probably start Wikipedia:WikiProject KYOVA Region today to focus on the articles within the Portsmouth-Ironton-Ashland-Huntington region. You are right (as usual) about where the redirect points. It turns out there were 2 redirects, with and without the apostrophe. I've switched one of the redirects to the new article I've written. I would like to propose the article I've written be kept. The site article contains several details that cannot be found in any of the provided links, and in one case, I think, embellishes the facts. (I hope you've noticed I've tended to be pretty anal about providing references for the articles I write or contribute to. For examplel, see Blackwater River (West Virginia) ) From a practical point of view I think searchers will be more interested to find an article about the state park than the site article. Any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciate. Also, I've reached a milestone on the article List of West Virginia state parks. I wonder if you would take a glance at it, and make suggestions. I'll try to start a "to do" list on the talk page later tonight. One incomplete item list item: I need to figure out how to wiki-code in the key to the colors/region used in the table. Thanks for your support. WVhybrid 22:30, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi - only to say I live very close and had to look it up in a very large & definite guide to the area - it's small. I think someone has just gone thro some "redlinks" and put virtually the same narrative in each. I've worked up a couple that are just about justified (& will do a couple more) but that one (& when I get a chance to get back to them) and a couple of others really are back yard streams in world context. However with my previous experience of a prod (<g>) I thought I'd seek further advice so don't give people awards if you never want to hear from them again! Argo Tea successfully opened the 5th and 6th locations on schedule. They still seem to believe that in 2007 they will at least double the number of locations. Since they were on schedule with stores 5 and 6, there is no reason to doubt them.
As a wikipedian, I have created a lot (compared to my own history) of new pages recently. You can tell by looking at the histoy on my user page. I have not had any recent trouble with page notability. However, I am having an ongoing debate about a line of a dab page at Seymour Knox. If you open edit and look at the code you will see a remmed out link. The debate is that although someone might refer to "Portrait of Seymour Knox" simply as "Seymour Knox" just as one might refer to other Warhols as "The Campbell's Soup Cans" or as "Marilyn Monroe" it is not a notable enough work. I have been told that because of the likelihood of deletion of a page called Portrait of Seymour Knox it is not something that should be included. As a 3rd party do you have an opinion?
I also got a little miffed at first that someone else created Category:Musicians work group articles needing discographies after I asked how to do it. I am realizing I am not wikiproficient enough to do what he did however. I have finally gotten over it by creating a section of ideas that were implemented by others on my user page.
Other than that, I have to learn the MOS a little better. I have had some discourse about my breaking page. I will probably rework it, but do not necessarily agree with the person who has tried to make some edits.
I checked the history briefly, but didn't see a previous prod--I'll keep a closer eye out on the future. Thanks. :) Justin Eiler 22:36, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I have no idea if there's any consensus, but if they're major routes it should be OK. I haven't run into problems with any of the secondary routes in Virginia. The ones in the log as "LSR" (whatever that means) should be fine, as should any that used to be primary routes; other than those, use common sense - is there anything to write about it? -- NE2 22:47, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
In Virginia, I redirected the template to the article listing the routes once it was removed from all pages. This might be a good idea here too, since someone may have the template bookmarked as links to all the routes. -- NE2 22:54, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Hehehehe... you chose to ask just that kind of question where I have to say each is unique. So I've prepared a dissertation and disquisition for you:
Actually they're a little too different to compare - crab cake is delicious but usually part of a meal. Vada pav is a spicy snack u just plump in your mouth and move along. I would say its definitely easier to enjoy crab cake just about anywhere (preferably in Chesaspeake Bay area or any coastal town), coz in Bombay you have to be careful not to pick just any road-side stall (this is a tip for if/when u may visit India) for sake of health - food hygiene is a major issue in India. The vendors around tourist destinations such as Juhu Beach, Gateway of India, Haji Ali and Worli Seaface, Chowpatty beach, Dalal Street (India's Wall Street, so to say) Colaba Point, Bandra Bandstand are good - these are the ones who've established the tradition. Also, the ones in makeshift cafes, cinemas and slightly modern places are usually not good becoz of their attempt to carry tradition into commercial modernity. Some restaurant chains like Shiv Sagar are very good. Unusually, Dalal Street is home to some of the best food stalls in the city - these are convenient for the busy traders and brokers. I knew a stall owner who sold bhel-puri and pav-bhaji and make enough money to send his son to college in the U.S. So don't think these guys are poor, although they may look the part!
A vada pav is best enjoyed when the vada is hot and the pav is warm. Apart from the chilli and masala in the vada, you should also add some "lasan chutney" (garlic spice paste) for an absolutely tangy deliciousness. Preferably a hot cup of tea should be held in the other hand. If you are not accustomed to spicy food, you might think the vada-pav needs a cold drink, but only the experts in the tourist areas really know how to make a good vada-pav. Crab cake is a food that is best enjoyed with some wine and in the most traditional style with a piece of bread and rice. D.C. area has some good restaurants but nothing beats the diners of eastern Maryland. Rama's arrow 14:57, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi Young, thanks for your note. As for homebrewing, I've had that page on my watchlist forever and have been meaning to add alot to it, so your note kind of reminded me to get to it! I've been brewing for about five years and have made beer (specifically, cream ale and nut brown ale), cider, and wine (chianti). My favorite project, and the one that actually turned out best, was cider, and in fact it was even the easiest one to make! All you have to do is get raw, unprocessed cider (easier said than done unless you happen to live near an orchard), dump it into a clean carboy, and add yeast. I usually use wine yeast because I want the cider to achieve a higher proof, and wine yeast will stay alive longer while beer yeasts will usually die once the proof gets too high. Also, if you use wine yeast you can put some of the brew into wine bottles and cork it, resulting in apple wine, and some into beer bottles with some DME or bottling sugar, cap it, and make bubbly/sparkling cider... if you try that with ale/beer yeast the apple wine will have an odd, off flavor. Take care, -- Caliga10 18:17, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi there and thanks for the advice. Apologies for not getting the whole deletion thing right. I have tried again (and hopefully followed the right procedure this time!!) Mmoneypenny 15:36, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
I just added two new articles here and will be expanding on the pages soon as a start. Seicer ( talk) ( contribs) 19:16, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
I noticed that you are involved in the NFL wikiproject. I started a new project at: Wikipedia:WikiProject American football to help clean up the non-NFL football articles (mostly football strategy type articles). Please consider joining this project and helping out where possible. -- Jayron32 02:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
I notice you have uploaded a lot of photos in the Huntington area. By any chance do you have any photos of Beech Fork State Park? Or could you take some? If you could post a few into the article, it sure needs some. And then I could use one of them to flesh out the List of West Virginia state parks. Thanks again for your help. Dear Youngamerican: I'm fairly sure that you don't hold my personal beliefs about Byrd. However, I am being reverted over and over again concerning Byrd's role in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by Rjensen. He has already reverted the article four times in the last 24 hours. I don't want to bring in an admin, but I will. I'm stepping away for the rest of the day. If he reverts four times tomorrow then I will bring in an admin. Could you take a quick look at it?-- Getaway 14:51, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Happy to have comments but it seemed silly to take it to AfD tho I will in a week or so - look at the original editor's history for that run of edits. -- Herby talk to me 14:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi - OK brain in gear before fingers! I came across this one last night Yorkshire Forward. I removed quite a large number of links to its website and stopped and looked at it. Now to me this is more of a corporate advert than an encyclopedia page and - in its present form - not what Wiki wants? (my POV anyway)
However with my previous experience of a prod (<g>) I thought I'd seek further advice so don't give people awards if you never want to hear from them again! I presume it is not a "speedy" (?) and too early in its life for an AfD (?) but .... Sorry if it bugs you but all the best -- Herby talk thyme 09:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't wanna get another request like that again, you hear me??!1! Are you ready for me to draft your RfA nomination? - CrazyRussian talk/ email 19:05, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Youngamerican! Thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of 75/0/1! I hope I can live up to the standards of adminship, and I will try my best to make Wikipedia a better place. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance. :) |

Thanks for the heads-up on the move of Gabby Gabreski. The new title is definitely wrong unless we've changed Wikipedia:Use common names when I wasn't looking. Isomorphic 03:14, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I originally located that picture and downloaded it to my hard drive before I had even looked up and added to the Wikipedia entry for Lunken. I thought I remembered it being from a site that I linked to from a Cincinnati gov't site. I have found it again via Google -- turns out it is linked from AirNav.com, a CincyPost.com article, and a pilot's blog, but none of those have the same IP/site address as the image, so it is inconclusive to me as well. I will defer to the policy experts. -- MBStevens1 17:56, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Re Wooran, New South Wales - a "homestead" is usually a sheep or cattle station in the middle of nowhere. There's thousands of them dotted throughout the Australian outback, most are either private residences or abandoned. Why are you giving me a warning about something that I didn't do? I'm quite certain I've never even looked at Heather Mills McCarthy's wiki entry, and I certainly didn't edit nonsense into it. I appreciate your efforts to keep the sight clean of vandalism, but accusing users of things they didn't do makes you look like an ass.

See: Roads of Charleston, West Virginia. Not satisfied with screwing up the redirects to it, the IPuser is suggesting it be merged. Can you imagine the page of roads being squished into an already lengthy city page? I left him a warning on his user page about his redirect screwup, but let's nip this one in the bud and vote to decline. Seicer ( talk) ( contribs) 00:59, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. I just got a couple for Stonewall SP today. Only about 15 SPs to go. Have you given any more thought to bringing the article up to Featured list status? WVhybrid 22:54, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
I used the dual license after skimming through some of the help articles. Actually I have no preference. I see you put notice back to the single license. I am okay with that status.
The last thing I want to do is step on your toes! I hope that we can work together to improve some more WV articles over time. You just need to keep me on the straight and narrow. (I usually learn pretty well from my mistakes, and I promise not to mess up your licenses any more.)
Once again, thanks for making the trip down to the park. Last week-end was pretty nice, wasn't it.

Hehehehe... you chose to ask just that kind of question where I have to say each is unique.

Secondly, I wish to thank you for your kind words of encouragement. However, in my own opinion, I do not feel that I am an accomplished user yet as I have gone through three failed RfA nominations!
