I see you picked a name. US 50 should cross Memorial Bridge in Arlington it used to. Not sure how that should be handled. Your doing a great job. I left you a message on the IP address too.

I created a Northwestern Turnpike Category. You can click on it at the bottom of Ed Weavers link.

WV actually has no County Routes, the state owns all roads. We have Rt 9 over hear. It runs from Short Gap to Maysville, in Grant County. It is known as Knobly Rd. It crosses US 50 at the base of the mountain where the 3 lane starts.

Do you know anybody else in the state, that we can ask to work on the State Highways and get that more complete?

I see several problems already. Cabin Run Road, there is one in Mineral County that has nothing to do with the one in Hampshire County. If you called it, Cabin Run|Cabin Run Hampshire, WV, then, what do you call Rada Road, which starts in Mineral County and ends up in Hampshire? This needs somethinking, before a bunch of work is done. Maybe Cabin Run|Cabin Run 46/2 is an answer. (I guessed at the number)

Also US standard for roads, they start in the west or the south.

Sorry, I just now saw your message. I don't usually log on unless I see something on the New Pages that I might want to work on. I see you already found how to add the external maps to articles. I'm not an expert. I saw someone else had added them and copied the template. About the only thing more I can add is that I use the search at the GNIS server to find the coordinates. Potomac Highlands of West Virginia I added that today. Thought you might want to expand on it.

Adena culture You can probably add the info of the Romney Mound to this section.

I have been working on Forts in Mineral County, Fort Sellers, Fort Ohio, and Fort Cocke from the French and Indian War. There is some info on one at Romney. That got me thinking of our Medal of Honor soliders William E. Shuck and Jonah Edward Kelly. I need to do the Civil War Forts in Mineral County.

Forts

Fort Fuller was located where Potomac state stands now. It was the main fort. Piano was located on top of New Creek Moutain. The road accessing it goes up across from the Keyser filteration plant.

I added it the end of all the towns in Mineral, and some in the other counties replace any of the WV links.

C&O Cannel, and Paw Paw tunnel are really in Maryland. Could seperate out the colleges and Add Potomac State, and Eastern. What about airports? Should they be included?

Western Maryland who wrote that. Vermont and Montana, only Garrett County. Most people consider Western Maryland starting west of Hancock. It is badly written. "Many people still perform a variety of subsistence agriculture for their food needs" maybe a 100 years ago.

Wikipedia:Templates for deletion Somebody Vandalised all the sites we worked on for the roads.

• VA Template is at the bottom of this page Wikipedia:Templates for deletion. I also added Nboggs that did all the damage to Wikipedia:Clueless newbies. We probably need to add more WV Highways to this list. I wanted to wait and take time to do other projects, but the red probably is what has this Noob upset. It may also be my fault. I e@mailed a guy that had a website with info on it, and that is when this occured. I thought the guy would help, instead of hurting the effort.

• • Wikipedia:Categories for deletion I added the list for deletion since the table is easier to navigate. This really shows the problem of an open system. That is what is compeating against the template. The template shows up on each highway entry, the list makes them goto another page to continue. Stoney River was built in the 1800's by Westvaco when the had a pulp mill up there. I haven't been into it since I was a little kid 30 years ago. They was a large summer home there over looking the lake built by John Luke. -- 71Demon 18:23, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

List of U.S. Highways in West Virginia patterned the top after the CA list. I stopped because some of the sheilds are missing for the 3 digit ones. US 220 for one, and it is not on the list along with US 219 somehow I missed both. -- 71Demon 20:48, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Ya, I looked at the stuff User:Rschen7754 had edited. He mostly does Highways, so he probably has the attitude they should all be the way he wants them done and has blinders on to someone elses ideas. User:SPUI/uncensored is a straight up guy. He actually cares about Wiki like ourselves and not himself. I went to the California Highways site, it was so huge it would load slow. I put a AFD on it, and put KEEP but needs to be split. User:Rschen7754 got real unreasonable, real fast, so I said screw it spilt the Interstates and US highways out into their own listings. It made it load faster, but it is still over size, it did look nice. That is where I got the idea for the West Virginia Highways. I realized U.S. Highway 19 needs added to the list. BTW a friend looked at User:Rschen7754 and it explains alot about his attitude. I am a Southern Californian sophomore in high school -- 71Demon 21:29, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

Check out Talk:West Virginia State Highways they are determined to make everything the same as California. Maybe if they hear from somebody else about WV's system they will start to understand they don't understand it. Like the county route fractional system for numbering.

Also check out the discussion on West Run Expressway. I got banned for that, until they realized they made a mistake. SPUI moved the Interstate 268(Proposed) to West Run, and I moved it back. Bad thing is, SPUI quote a source for the move that said the West Run Expressway project was killed 2 March 2001 for years ago. The I 268 I learned about in meetings in Charleston and is current info. I don't see a reason for the West Run Expressway at all since the state killed the project 4 years ago, if you see a flaw in my logic please point it out. Hey there, I noticed that you reverted some links that I added to certain towns in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle region. I didn't intend to include them as merely "ads", but many of those local businesses are in historic buildings or share different aspects of local history in their websties, especially the Bed & Breakfasts that reside in old plantation homes and farmhouses. I understand your logic in deleting them, but don't you agree that we should be adding links based on the content of the websites and their relevance to the town they're included with? I also thought that such links added a face to a Wiki article. I wasn't trying to trash the articles up or anything, I promise ;) Thank you for your work and I enjoy your articles. --Caponer 18:49, 6 October 2005 (UTC)

Since I only monitor Civil War-related towns, I hadn't come upon your work before. It is possible that some of your links are of historic value, but in that case you shouldn't collect them in a category that implies you're using Wikipedia as a local Chamber of Commerce webpage, promoting local businesses. That has two problems: (1) businesses are transitory entities; (2) you will encourage local pizzeria to add their links and you won't have a logical leg to stand on in opposing them. In all of the pages I've seen, there are occasional links to local government tourism sites, which have all the local business info. Wikipedia is not a surrogate for the Worldwide Web in general or the Yellow Pages. It's an encyclopedia. When I add something to a page, I ask myself "Would the Encyclopedia Brittanica include this?" I haven't done any looking at that area yet. The Railroad History Database doesn't seem to have anything useful on those. You may be able to find some information on historical topo maps, which have been scanned in that area. -- SPUI ( talk) 00:41, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Long story short...He has a wikipedia article about himself that I listed for deletion and now he seems to have made it his personal mission to not get me elected and to ensure his article stays. My main interest in Catoctin was as a protected area, rather than a geographical feature. I do not know much about the geography of it, nor that it apparently is a ridge that extends into Virginia. A websearch turned up a Catoctin Creek, a Catoctin District, and a Catoctin Ridge in Loudon, but I could not find another "Catoctin Mountain" on Topozone. Anyway, do what you think is best. Perhaps Catoctin Mountain could be a disambig page, with links to Catoctin Mountain Park and a new geographical article Catoctin Ridge? But as I said, I know little of geography. Sandra Rockefeller Ferry (born 1935)

She was born in NYC in 1935 as Sandra Ferry Rockefeller. I can't find any marriage info on her though, although I think she married a Ferry, making her Sandra Ferry Rockefeller Ferry. Do you know the name of the husband? -- The Oswestrian 14:23, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

The Washington Post ran an article in 1984, on the birth of John Christian Rockefeller.

There are two dates on Rockefeller pages for Hope Rockefeller, one in 1946, the other 1939. Her birth is actually sometime in MAy 1938, can't get the exact date. Her first husband was John, son of Theodore Spencer. I don't know if she has remarried, or why she uses Aldrich as her surname.

Georgia Rockefeller is not the mother of a Sarah Elizabeth Rose (1958–1989)

Hey, I saw that you tried to move James Roosevelt senior to James Roosevelt, Sr. by cutting-and-pasting the content. I had to undo your edit and delete the other page, since that is not the appropriate way of moving pages, and then move it properly. Hi! We seem to have a pesky little vandal who may hail from your neck of the woods. He keeps creating sockpuppets and the subjects all relate to either being a "West Virginia redneck" or some ridiculous non-existent TV show called "The Carlow Crab," whatever that means. I almost jumped on your last edit when I saw "West Virginia" in the title. Glad I didn't.  :) Anyway, I'm supposed to be on "wikivacation." Swung by as an anon and saw this ongoing idiocy which is truly becoming chronic. He manages to keep on coming in via shifting proxies. Kinda like swatting skeeters. You betcha. Antandrus is right. He seems to have earned the unofficial nickname of the "North Carolina Vandal" since a lot of his edits seem to be in relation to that state. Guess he isn't too picky about the state he messes with; I've reverted at least three today regarding West Virginia. What I need to do is to write a nice, long and useful article offline, sign in, post it and run like hell. Won't be tempted to do new page patrolling that way. Take care and thanks again. Hi Hal, about five or six other contributors and I are trying to refurbish and greatly improve the West Virginia article and its sub-articles. While I hail from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, I know little to nothing about the American Civil War in West Virginia other than its obvious effect. I was wondering if you or any of Wikipedia's other Civil War enthusiasts that you know of could assist us in any way you can in crafting a West Virginia in the Civil War article since...well...the Civil War is kind of an integral period of our state's history. You've created and improved so many fabulous Civil War articles, some of which helped tutor me through two semesters of Civil War History at Virginia Tech. Thank you for the compliments, but what sort of help are you seeking? I do not have such an article on my plate to do myself. If you have visited my user page, you can see that I have a long list of articles in my queue. I had not planned to do any "<state> in the American Civil War" type of article, although I have toyed with the idea of doing California because it's such a minor involvement (and it is where I live). West Virginia is certainly an interesting case because of its political situation and the number of battles fought there. Unfortunately, I have never done much personal research in either and would have to start almost from scratch. If you would like to assemble materials and come up with a draft, I would be happy to help you edit it. I would suggest you include the following subjects in separate sections:

1. political history and formation of the state
2. battles, arranged chronologically
3. list and one-sentence descriptions of notable politicians and soldiers of the era
4. list of famous regiments with notable battles

You might also check with the guys at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military history. Or my friend User:Scott Mingus. Do you know of any WV books or magazine articles you could use to jumpstart your research? Good luck, Hal Jespersen 03:10, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the notice about the West Virginia project. My work on the state was limited to adding information from a few little slips of paper about the origins of the names of many small towns. I have a much much more of this very interesting stuff, but I doubt that I will have the time in the forseeable future to do anything about it. Thanks and Good luck.
