I'm afraid you are wrong, according to http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/country-history/History-Country-Western%20-%200271.htm Midwestern Hayride began before 1937 and if you push "next", higher up on the page, you'll see that Riley Puckett was indeed one of the performers of the Midwestern Hayride. - I didn't know that the Midwestern Hayride started as early as it was described at this website. hillbilly-music.com only says that it was first held before 1948, so I thought It was only one or two years on the air at that moment. Hi I am Curley Money's grandson and I published an article that you blocked for copy right infringement. I am just trying to put something on Wikipedia about my grandfather and keep running into problems at every corner. I have re-written the article and would like you to read it. I really don't see were I was guilty of copy right infringement anyway since the article on the website you listed probably isn't copy written in the first place. And who ever wrote it didn't have My grandfather's, my dad's or my permission to write an article about him in the first place, but I'm not complaining that they did. I'm honored that they would write an article and I think they did a good job with it. Anyway I have re-written the article to what I feel is not infringement of any sort and I hope that you will leave it alone now and help see that my gradfathers article gets put back out there. I used the text as source. The new version you made is good and I will report this at the copyright page. Take a look at the smirking toilet paper text in this article. It does not really relate to Shoes IMO. I have seen this clip from the Allen Show, and have in in avi format. I don't think Allen is smirking, and I don't think what is probably "butcher paper" looks much at all like "toilet paper". After the "presentation", Elvis sings "I Want You I Need You I Love You". Then Allen comes out a second time and sets up "Hound Dog". OneFortyOne loves putting this sort of thing in articles, and I'd like your opinion on whether or not in belongs in an article on "Shoes". Would you like me to join that discussion? You both make good points. You might want to take a look at the Rockin Country Style web site hosted by Emory University. There you will see (the site is now being blocked from my computer!) that songs by Ernie Ford ARE rated as pertinent to the rockabilly style, using an objective system of ratings. I've been coming across many statements about people playing "rocking" stuff before "rockabilly". To me, we already sort of cover that with the pre Elvis stuff. You and Digby both know bunches about this. For Digby, though, the problem is lack of "verifiable" references. You both seem to be locked in one of those arguments that isn't/won't go anywhere! Hi, I used the book "In the Country of Country" by Nicholas Dawidoff to identify the photo of Arnold Schultz and Clarence Wilson. Dawidoff seems to me a credible researcher who spent a great deal of time researching the origins of Country Music and conducting interviews. That being said, I am still pursuing a definitive answer on that, so that the photo can be used on Wikipedia. The only other identification for the man on the right in the photo, that I have seen, comes from a genealogy page and I am still waiting from a reply from that page's author.
