Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{ User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for December has been published. January's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.

- Valid points, but what you say actually supports my opinion. You say that the typical order is noun-adjective while in English it is adjective-noun, and this the case in āḥrof shamsīyyah (noun-adjective) which in English is likely to be solar letters (adjective-noun), right? - No, it's letters solar --> solar letters. It's similar to siyyarah sari`a (car fast) --> fast car. Like I said in WP:AMOS, the terms solar and lunar letters might be correct but the more commonly used and endorsed terms are sun and moon letters. - Oh, absolutely! Words come naturally for me, but the learning curve on designing is intimidating! I'll probably play around with my user page over time and add a few things in (like the gazillion courses I've tuaght), but since I seem to be using Wikipedia as my "R&R" activity, I thought I'd at least put something up there. :-) Any aid and assistance would be welcome. warmly,
- Sure, I'll see what I can do. As for replying, well, people generally expect to see replies in their talk page, but it would be OK if you want to reply in your own talk page. Very valid points indeed. I do also believe that Paul Anka is, historically, of Syrian ancestry. He was born to Syrian parents and sang in a Syrian church, but his parents were Maronites, so undoubtedly Anka himself asserts that he is of Lebanese descent. I think it's not a major issue actually. What's important is that we have noted that in the article. Being in a certain category or tagged as part of WP:SY is no big deal. Hello, ais523. I've been working on some edits in the article "American and British English differences." Problems keep cropping up though. It seems if I do a longish edit, the "save" blanks out the first two and 1/2 sections of the article. This just happened when I tried to save an edit adding a reference to the article. The first time this happened, I thought it was vandalism and just reverted back to an earlier edit. But it keeps happening. Any trouble shooting ideas? Cyg-nifier 16:54, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've just looked through the article's history. It seems to be because there was an incorrectly-closed ref tag introduced in your edit here; you typoed and accidentally wrote >/ref> rather than </ref>. This led to the ref expanding to enclose the whole of the rest of the article, apparently blanking it. I think the ref tags are correctly matched in the latest version, so you shouldn't have a problem if you don't typo again; if the problem persists, put {{ helpme}} back up. I'm getting the strong impression that you're going around adding your personal views to Wikipedia, whether it be about Harvard referencing or anything else, which is why I'm requesting sources for your edits. Rather than throwing out accusations of harassment, it would make more sense for you simply to provide the sources, and to read the content policies, which will save you problems like this in future: see WP:NOR, WP:V, and WP:CITE. Also, have you edited Wikipedia with any other user name/IP? I'm getting a strong sense of déja vu from some of your editing and your responses. SlimVirgin (talk) 21:28, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our
members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the
members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the
new requests system, which has replaced the old
/proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial
backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage.
