Redirect of TARDIS Travellers

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on TARDIS Travellers, by Schutz ( talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because TARDIS Travellers is a redirect to a non-existent page ( CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting TARDIS Travellers, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. -- Android Mouse Bot 2 22:28, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! -- SineBot 18:19, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

You said that the page is only about the episodes and spin-off media. Well if you were any more smart than you would know that the video games are spin-off media you so and so. Please just leave them there and not start an edit war. VitasV 28/8/07 —Preceding unsigned comment added by VitasV ( talkcontribs) 23:40, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

If they are spin-off material then why does no official source ( Doctor Who reference Guide, Outpost Gallifrey OR The Discontinuity Guide) list them as such. Maybe because they're not!!!! - they are merchandise. Are you really suggesting we inlced all the merchandise games? Don't try and threaten me. Incase you haven't noticed, I am THE FOURTH person to remove the games after Digby, Ozoo and Ckatz. You are extremely arrogant and cannot admit that you are wrong. It was the same with The Doctor Who movie, and the monsters. You are determined to get your own way. So not only will I remove them, I will report you FOR VANDALISM. Alright I'll stop adding the video games but at least keep Attack of the Graske and Mission to the Unknown VitasV 1/9/07 —Preceding unsigned comment added by VitasV ( talkcontribs) 23:49, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm not asking to remove "Mission to the Unknown", I'm asking wheter the section that it is listed in should be changed on the minor point that it doesn't contain the doctor.
As for Attack of the Graske, I asked ( on the talk page) if there was a reason for it's removal, and was told that it was counted as a game (which I can understand as sit has two possible endings), so I kept it out. Ask (politelty) on the talk page, and see what people think.

Vandalism

Stuart, just a note on vandalism: in order to class an edit as vandalism, you need to be able to assert that it is "addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia". While I think VitasV is wrongheaded in what he does and his approach to doing it, I think he honestly believes he's improving the article.

That isn't to say you can't undo any edits of his that you think are wrong (with the boundaries of WP:3RR and WP:CIVIL etc, naturally). But I doubt any vandalism report is going to be taken seriously if it looks like a content dispute. Cheers. -- Mark H Wilkinson ( t, c) 09:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

After repetedly reverted edits, and being told specifically not to include them, and having them removed by Four different people, he still includes them. I think that qualifies as vandalism. An IP would have been blocked long before this. StuartDD 09:57, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
It's more likely that something can be done if he's shown to repeatedly go to three reverts, in which case an ANI report on gaming the system can be made. IPs tend to get blocked over 3RR or obvious vandalism. In Vitas's case, the admin who viewed the case noted he hadn't been warned specifically for the reverts he'd made.
If he goes to three reverts again tomorrow, I'll make a WP:GAME report. -- Mark H Wilkinson ( t, c) 10:06, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report about VitasV ( talk · contribs · block log) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. In this case no final warning had been issued. Any further problems please don't hesitate to give me a shout or Mark above. Regards Khu kri 10:11, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Restoring removed comments

Hi, just a note on what you're doing on Vitas's talk page: current policy means that users are not prevented "from removing comments from their own talk pages, though archiving is preferred". This means he's within his rights to remove notices. There's more on this and related issues on Wikipedia:User page. Cheers. -- Mark H Wilkinson ( t, c) 09:36, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Appologies. In furture, I will not do this. StuartDD ( t c ) 12:53, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Hey, it was perfectly understandable. One thing to keep in mind, though, is making sure any significant comments come with an easy to fathom summary; so that, for example, if an incorrigible vandal keeps blanking their page, there is a sequence in the page history of "Vandalism notice", "Second vandalism warning", "final warning", etc, which an admin can understand with minimum effort. -- Mark H Wilkinson ( t, c) 13:57, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Talk page warnings

Wryspy is wrong. People are allowed to remove warnings from their talk page:

"Policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user. Deleted warnings can still be found in the page history."

'Tis good. If people come onto wiki they expect info to be acurate. I've already heard people say it's unreliable because anyone can edit. StuartDD ( t c ) 16:38, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Funny you should say that, but editors aren't generally supposed to treat Wikipedia articles as reliable sources. [1] And it's understandable, really: at any given time, the revision one accesses can be riddled with vandalism, rumours, or just plain falsehoods. It wasn't that long ago that Robin of Sherwood had a fourth season added to it, despite there being no such thing; that particular piece of vandalism stayed up for most of a day before it was dealt with. -- Mark H Wilkinson ( t, c) 16:52, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Interesting. Obviously wiki can't be fully acurate, as things can change rapidly on some occasions - and let's face it, ordinary people edit it so it'll never be perfect. StuartDD ( t c ) 17:00, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

WP:3RR

Oh, Stuart, you'd be surprised. I've been blocked for deleting three different pieces of unsourced speculation in three different edits - not a war, as such, just uncontested deletion. The blocking admin said he agreed with all that I'd done, but it was still 3RR. What a cr*p rule.-- Porcupine ( prickle me! · contribs · status) 14:23, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, quite, of course it should be an exception. I also tried using Ignore all rules to do it - the 3RR prevented me from maintaining WP by allowing fan-drivel to seep in, so I ignored it. Didn't work.-- Porcupine ( prickle me! · contribs · status) 14:29, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't inserting Attack of the Graske after The Christmas Invasion "in the abs(e)nce of any other position" count as OR? I ask this, fully acknowledging that I don't know much about Attack of the Graske. -- Wryspy ( talk) 01:50, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

The position is not clear from the "episode" itself. It was "broadcast" after Christmas Invasion, and it is also placed there by Doctor Who reference guide. I can add that as a reference if you want. Stuart DD contributions 09:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I have to say since this has been up his attitude has quite amazingly improved 10 fold (see below), unless we get a reply from any other user in the next two days then we should just send it, that should be plenty of time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiggstar69 ( talkcontribs) 21:07, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
The "your very welcome" - maybe. I hope it's not just a one off. I think two days is a good idea, but if he practices it again before then, we should just post it. Stuart DD contributions 21:12, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Good thinking, we'll leave for now and get back to it on Monday, unless as you say, somthing else happens.-- Wiggstar69 21:18, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes it is a flashback that is told and that the story takes place after The Myth Makers. -- VitasV 06:52, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Your very much welcome. I hope you have a very nice day. -- VitasV 08:10, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Source

It's on the edit page, and pretty obvious anyway. They should learn. BTW, your talkpage link in your signature is wrong; it links to User talk:StuartDD rather than StuartDD. Porcupine ( prickle me! · contribs · status) 18:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Maybe, but you should still assume good faith. And thanks for the note about my talk page link. Stuart DD contributions 18:13, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

On the contrary, I did assume good-faith - who mentioned vandalism or bad-faith? I just also observed the stupidity. Porcupine ( prickle me! · contribs · status) 18:19, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

My point was that words like "sodding" are not really needed. I am not intending to make this an official warning. Stuart DD contributions 18:22, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Is this

member a member of Qqabal, or are you another Scottish Dr Who fan called Stuart?

Sheriff Bernard 22:58, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Must be another one. I don't even know what Qqabal IS. Stuart DD contributions 08:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

OR?

Doesn't inserting Attack of the Graske after The Christmas Invasion "in the abs(e)nce of any other position" count as OR? I ask this, fully acknowledging that I don't know much about Attack of the Graske. -- Wryspy ( talk) 01:50, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

The position is not clear from the "episode" itself. It was "broadcast" after Christmas Invasion, and it is also placed there by Doctor Who reference guide. I can add that as a reference if you want. Stuart DD contributions 09:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, the reference is needed so that it does not appear to be a Wikipedia editor's guess. Good thinking. Wryspy ( talk) 18:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Captain John

Just to let you know I went ahead and did the merge. No need for discussion on this one since all other guest-star characters on Torchwood are covered in the list article and all the stub had was some unsourced speculation. It was an AFD magnet. 23skidoo ( talk) 15:33, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

That's fine, I was going to do the same thing myself - there was enough consensus. Stuart DD contributions 21:48, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

More Importantly

The return of the Master Trilogy, is part of the Mr. Saxon storyline... and is already covered.-- Dr who1975 ( talk) 19:16, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I relised that after hitting the "save changes" button. Stuart DD contributions 19:18, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Please could you place you comments after mine, it makes the text unreadable for you to interspace you comments in the middle of mine, thankyou Fasach Nua ( talk) 16:40, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

I will in future - I was using that style to reply to specific points separately. Stuart DD contributions 16:42, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
