"The Taking of the Bastille July 14th, 1789"

Hello SteveStrummer. I have noted your request for the ISBN for the above source reference. Unfortunately the English translation of this book, which I have recently acquired, was published in 1970 and does not include an ISBN reference. I understand that the International System of Book Numbering was introduced in 1967 but was not immediately adopted on a universal basis. Accordingly I have substituted the most recent French language edition (1989), which does include an ISBN reference.

As a source reference this may seem a bit dated but Professor Jacques Godechard was a distinguished academic who specialised in the period of the French Revolution. His work is very detailed and well referenced. Regards. Buistr ( talk) 03:15, 6 March 2019 (UTC) reply

Thanks Buistr, I appreciate the quick reply! And I certainly don't think that book is outdated at all. But if you don't mind, I think we should go back to the English language entry and just leave it with no ISBN. I'd rather stay true to the actual book used, and keep the page number accurate. Do you agree? SteveStrummer ( talk) 03:57, 6 March 2019 (UTC) reply
Yes that seems sensible. I will make the reversion to the ISBN-less English language source. Buistr ( talk) 06:33, 6 March 2019 (UTC) reply

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Thank you, Baffle gab1978! I am grateful for your time and energy editing this article! I must tell you that I want to revise just a few of those changes, and I wondered if you wanted explanations or a discussion about them. In any case, any revisions do not indicate any dissatisfaction with your work. The article has been much improved, and I'm indebted to you for your generous service! Thanks Steve, no problem. I noticed some copyvio problems where some texts had been copied directly from source websites (checked via Google). I should have flagged these up but didn't have the time or patience. Usually I can tell copyvios because the text becomes more waffly and less encyclopaedic. I hope I've removed them all anyway. Please go ahead with your changes but be careful not to restore any copyvios. I'm glad the c/e has been useful for you. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 22:17, 6 December 2019 (UTC) reply
